cool, don't need to throw cash at an old g-men reject. Petigout still has some football left, but we need youth at a low price.

Re: Petigout opts for Tampa...

He would have been a good pickup if the price was right. I kinda was thinking he was like the rest of these "OVERPAID" OL FA, looking for the BIG CHECK.

Glad we held our hand on this one. I think this Guard spot isn't TOP priority at this time.

Re: Petigout opts for Tampa...

I posted this yesterday in regard to possible LG's

Here's some names to chew on as possible replacements:

Ruben Brown (Bears) - yes he's old but the guy can still play, he would be a good stop gap.

Cosey Coleman (Browns) - a lot of starting experience but not very mobile or quick.

Zach Piller (Titans) - has some injury concerns but he's a quality run blocker.

Rick DeMulling (Lions) - athletic lineman, excels at pulling and trapping, not very stout in the running game, lacks awareness.

Chris Villarrial (Bills) - probably on his last legs as a starter but he's got good size, strength, and experience.

Re: Petigout opts for Tampa...

Ruben brown is old but is experience would be enough to get the job done for a few years while Bugel grooms a late rounder. The big question is at his age could he pull. That was Dockery's biggest problem. Even Portis said that.

Re: Petigout opts for Tampa...

What's the deal with Wade? Is he still on our roster? Can he switch to Guard? Just wondering...

Also, in a trade-down, are there any good guards in the draft who might step right in?

Re: Petigout opts for Tampa...

Seems likely that we trade down unless our favorite d-lineman out of Anderson, Branch and Adams is still available when we pick. If they really like Okoye or Carriker then we absolutely trade down and draft a guard with the extra pick.
