Interesting, considering the time line set by JLC. I hope the Colts lose so we can get this squared away as soon as possible.

Do you think this means anything about GW's status as front runner since he was supposed to be the last interview?

even if Snyder decides he is the guy its going to be weeks till the choice is made public due to the Rooney rule possibilities being on the colts. Thats what really sucks. I hope if Snyder does want Williams he at least gives him an idea he is the guy instead of having him be in limbo until the colts are knocked out

Haven't heard anything new. But I imagine it is close to being resolved. i've been kind of out of the loop since yesterday morning. Had actual work to do

Does the Rooney rule apply if they hire within the organization? Do they have to waste peoples time on an interview if GW is the guy (which IMO he is the guy NO DOUBT that will end up being our next Head Coach), on a minority interview?

Come on Smooty! This is much bigger than your livelihood...LOL!

I would love to be a fly on the wall during the interview process.

I believe the rule does apply regardless. At my workplace, if my boss offers me a promotion, they actually have to come up with a title (ie I'd get promoted from software specialist to senior software specialist) and they have to advertise for it and interview x number of candidates. It's probably the same thing. The only thing I wonder about is if Gibbs had stepped down midseason and Gregg Williams had taken over as coach, would there have been an interview process at the end of the season to make everything "legal"?

After looking into this rooney rule this might not apply to the Redskins or GW being promoted to head coach at all, depends on his contract language.

Hopefully everything goes well in the interview and GW gets the job.

I wonder what happens to Saunders if GW gets the job? Do you guys think he'll stick around?

Unfortunately, Williams' contract didn't have that language in it. But Caldwell isn't the only minority candidate out there. There are plenty of other qualified candidates out there (if they don't want to wait).

There is no reason for him not to. He probably isnt going to get any HC offers, and it would take another two years to teach a different team his system if he were to be OC elsewhere. If it is up to him I am sure he'll stay. So it is really up to the next HC, and if that is GW Id be surprised if he sent him packing.
