Re: Peter King on Zorn Hire
I remember some of you guys were asking about the reaction Reid got in Philly when he was hired. Anyway here you go....

it's no secret here that I think Joe Gibbs is one of the best coachs in history and I'm not bashing your new coach Zorn.........loved him as a player but Snyder deserves everything that comes to him and more. He'll change the color of the jersey's just so fans buy more and after what he did to that old Lady who had season tickets and lived across the street, made her walk just as far to catch a shuttle(pay for) to go to the other side of the stadium an walk in.She went to court and they found out he hire rent a cops and dressed them to look like PG county Police. She WON! |

So what about: Chartering two planes to fly the entire team and their wives/girlfriends to Sean Taylor's funeral Getting Todd Collins to the birth of his child in December Sending a plane to the New Orleans/Mississippi area to get Robert Royal's family out of ther during Hurricane Katrina and findhing housing for them Setting up a foundation-where he matches all donations-to renovate high scool football fields and other high school facilities in Washington, DC Creating a mentoring program for area students with Redskins players Financing a community effort to provide food for survivors of the 2004 tsunami in Indonesia (among other things) No, none of that should count for anything

Re: Peter King on Zorn Hire
Ole Danny Boy is an enigmatic figure, so be it. We're all used to the media disdain for him, which is not just a Skins fans' knee jerk reaction, but a truth IMO & many others.
I agree that he has brought most of it on himself. Like any one w/a public personna & reputation it takes some time for that image to change. I mean can you imagine Paris Hilton as a spokesperson for any humanitarian cause or charity? Probably not, but in our lifetime (those of you under 70 or so that is), I wouldn't be surprised to see her in such a role. Snyder may one day warm up to the press & vice-versa & his drive to build a billion dollar super bowl winning football team that he was a fan of as a kid may be looked upon as an inspiring American success story. Until then & until he truly changes the Skins long-term, I expect to see more of the same Danny bashing, some of it deserved, but don't put hiring Zorn in that category just yet. he'll be a winner here! |

Re: Peter King on Zorn Hire
Isn't Zorn 54 yrs old? Why does everyone talk about him like he's 35? At this point I'm skeptical. Why didn't any other team show interest in hiring him before if he's been around the league for 10+?

Re: Peter King on Zorn Hire
I wish they'd destroy RFK and build over there! It would be a great location for football stadium, urban location so many options to/from the games. Only problem is Dan makes so much money on parking...but i have a strong feeling he's coming back to dc eventually. he wants the olympics

Re: Peter King on Zorn Hire
ahhhhh I don't know about this. Peter King is a homer! He's a die hard Giants fan. And probably the only Giants fan that likes Fassell. Personally, hiring fassel would have been a bad move. His teams always lacked discipline. And always did something stupid, like brawling it out with a football team, instead of playing football. There is a reason why other teams took Mike Nolan over him. Or that guy that coaches Detriot now............whatever his name is. Or Jim Mora over him as well.............well, in a month he will be taken.
Heck, Fassell couldn't even be a play caller for Brian Billick. I mean, when Billick says you suck and fires you. It must be so! So, I don't buy into what King says one bit. But, I wouldn't have minded if we got Russ Grimm back to be our head coach. I was kind of dissappointed when we didn't. Maybe now we can see if he's available
