1. Randy Moss is faster than welker. he's THE deep threat of the league, and has been. 2. Unless you mean develop Mix from a nobody to a decent #4, I don't think that's really going to be the best path. i mean, there are at least 10 WRs THIS YEAR that are 6'3" or 6'4" that run faster than Mix, and they've all had college careers with at least double the season and career totals, and at least half won't get drafted. |

Jackson was scheduled to make $3.8 million in base salary plus $200,000 in bonus. His contract called for a $4.5 million base salary in 2009. He would have been playing in his third offense in as many years. That's reason enough to see him go from San Francisco. Coming off a disappointing year, he could be a bargain player. That's why he's worth exploring if you're the Redskins, and that's why he's worth discussing here.

New link talking about Darrel Jackson:http://www.mercurynews.com/49ers/ci_8592220, it mentions he was among the NFC's leaders in drop, I didn't know that.

For those that like Jackson, he's not worth it. He drops way too many, and if we recall, a lot of us were ready to string Moss up by his toenails for his drops. Many said he single handedly lost us the GB game with his drops...so why go after a guy with brick hands? Again, I will say, (and agree with some here) that we need a big WR. Jackson being barely 6'0" and only 201 lbs, is not big. He is useless to us.

Re: Darrell Jackson?
C'mon people. Jackson is being released by the worst offense in the NFL. Why would we want this guy? All he does is drop passes. And I don't care if he knows the offense. At some point every NFL WR probably knows some version of the WC offense.

Re: Darrell Jackson?
Because he was released by the worst offense in the league. Jackson came from a team that struggled at the QB position last year. Hell, even Randy Moss struggled without a decent QB to get him the ball. And it's not like we're going to give the guy 100's of millions of thousands of dollars. The guy will help shore up our receiving core and allow us to use the draft to take care of more pressing needs, though I would love to see the team trade down with a team like the Falcons and have three second round picks.

Re: Darrell Jackson?
If Jackson is our best option I'd just stick with what we've got and look to the draft. Seems like we're headed that way anyway barring some sort of mega deal for someone like Chad Johnson.

Ironically though our third Running Back is a very good kick returner. Of course Darren Sproles is there second running back for now, or at least thats what I think he would be.

Old thread here, but didn't want to start a new one on this.
Anyhow, Jackson could be headed to the Broncos Two wide receivers attract Denver's eye - The Denver Post

Re: Darrell Jackson?
I don't see why the skins didn't at least make him a modest offer. Just as insurance in case they are not able to land the WR they want in the draft.
