Officer kills man who beat toddler to death near Modesto

The town of Turlock and much of the rest of the nation was shocked when a 27-year-old man beat and stomped his 2-year-old son to death on a rural road. But what was nearly as stunning for many people was that none of the motorists and their passengers who stopped and saw the attack tried to tackle the man.

Good article, Matty. I'd love to think I would take action, but there is no way to tell until you are in that situation. Hopefully none of us ever have to find out.

I can only imagine the pure shock of seeing something like this going down right in front of you. I'd like to think I would do something... but I can certainly understand people being frozen from the absolute shock of it.
