Jeremy Shockey is a Saint

Jay Glazer reports

in less than 24 hours, one of the best DE's has joined our team and one of the best TE's has left our division. pretty good day.

I thought this would happen a long time ago. Good to see him out of our division.

This is good for both teams. NO gave up a 2nd rounder which is very fair and the NYG really didn't need him cause of he emergence of the late round draft pick in Boss. NO is going to have a pretty explosive offense this year.

Wow, now I have to reconcile my feelings about this guy because I root hard for the Saints. I don't know if this is really a great move for them. They're a team who has the ability to make the playoffs this season, I don't know how much Shockey helps them. He's an upgrade at TE, but he could ruin that locker room, he should get plenty of balls though, maybe that'll keep him happy.

How do you call this trade good for both teams, but the Taylor trade awful for the Redskins?

jeremy's not a bad guy, he just wants a qb who can consistently get him the ball. now, he might be getting more than knows what to do with. i smell a career year for shockey.

Because Shockey is probably going to play at a high level for several more years. He's got a Pro Bowl QB throwing to him and his former O-coordinator who is knows him and knows his game. With the emegence of Boss, NY didn't really need him. Plus NY has Toomer, Plax, Steve Smith, Moss' little brother and they just drafted Mario M. They are pretty solid on offense.

Taylor could potentially play one more year and then go off and and try and make movies...or try and be Mr. Twinkle Toes again. I would bet that if we win 5-7 games he could walk. If that happens then we're right back to square one minus the draft pick, which could be a high 2nd rounder.

I'm going to say this one more time. Sometimes guys get hurt and you don't know what you have in the back-up until he gets in the game and shows what he can do. The Giants saw what Boss can do, he's had a great off season so they let Shockey go. But not before they got some value in return.

I am actually disappointed about this trade. Shockey is usually good for a 15 yard penalty in critical situations.

???Several more years(???) .....hell I'd be happy with one,at 27 he has'not finished a full season yet! I told all of you this would happen,he's nothing but a jerk ...yes he is most likely one of the top 3 TE's in the league but his route running sucks and he's a freaking head case.Look what he's mad about...the Giants would'nt let him on the sidelines during the super bowl.....No one injured on either team was aloud on the side lines ...he didn't go to the ring cerimony ,or to meet the Prez....good riddens and that should also save us 2 penilties a game.
