I say play more of both of them. Randle El is a bust in my opinion, not much of a playmaker at all. He has had his moments, but not too many. Thrown in these tall kids and let them run. Santana still has long ball threat attached to him, but since the West Coast is shorter passing, thus the very reason we picked him up is negated. Speed is only good for medium to longer routes or should I say it is maximized. As for Thrash? He was at his height in team value during his first run with us(Norv) as the return man and 5th WR, when we had Westbrook, Connelly, Andre Reed, Alvin Harper, etc. He was OK when Brad Johnson was here, but never became a feature WR with us. |

The Redskins picked up where they left off at the end of preseason. We have no offense, which is ironic given that we have an offensive-minded head coach.

Re: I waited & months for this crap?
Gosh I thought we'd look great with a brand new coach and a new offense for everyone to learn. Yea we looked bad but lets get real. We stunk and lost to the super bowl champs 16-7 in our first game of the season. The giants started o-2 last year and won the super bowl. What were people saying about Manning and the Giants then? Look I know we can play a lot better. I believe we will.

1. Agreed on the play calling, but how far in depth can they go into a 2 minute offense etc. during the off-season. By far my biggest problem with the play calling is that they didn't try to get the ball to Cooley early. That would have kept the LB's from being able to roam free for sacks and tackles for losses. 2. JC is not firing on all cylinders. There is something going on behind the scenes. Maybe the footwork zorn has him doing or something. But something isn't right. I'm not calling for, nor will I be calling for his head this season, but it needs to be addressed before next Sunday. 3. Agreed. Santana is starting his Sh*t again. Maybe we should have drafted another small fast wide receiver and got rid of him, instead of picking up to big WR's. 4. I never thought we would be "making a run" this year. Everything is too new. I just hope that the coach and JC, and the rest of the Offense took notes. Because they played horrible ball all game. Defense: You freaking rock! There was a couple times that I wanted to toss the T.V out the window. Mostly for getting run over by Brandon Jacobs.....but.....dude is freaking huge.

Re: I waited & months for this crap?
It's no surprise we sucked. We sucked in the preseason, that wasn't a mirage (I tried to tell ya!). And there's historical precedent: Hasselbeck took a long time to play decently in this offense too.
Expecting the passing game to hit the groud running was entirely unrealistic. We have to try to win with Portis and defense, and hope our passing game does just enough to get by.

Re: I waited & months for this crap?
I'm tired of hearing about this Colt Brennan bullshit.. JC might be looking rough but he's got 4 years under his belt compared to Colt. I'm sorry but I highly highly highly doubt Colt would be worth a shit right now if he was starting. Its one game we just have to build i guess. Yes i have my doubts also about a lot of things watching this game but lets see what JZ can do

You have a strong arm QB is is 6'4-6'5 throwing to receivers under 6 ft. That makes alot of sense. I don't understand what Synder, Gibbs, Cerrato, or whoever was thinking when they decided to get two receivers under 6. If they drafted Campbell knowing eventually he was going to be the "franchise QB" then why didn't they get bigger playmaking receivers??? Yes the drafted Kelly and Thomas this year., but it will be a year or two before they will make a difference. This issue should have been address when the drafted JC. Putting Brennan in last night still wouldn't change the fact that receivers were running the wrong routes, stop running their routes and the Oline couldn't get the running game going. I think was in the beginning of the third quarter were Campbell threw it deep and Moss stop running is route and the ball almost got intercepted. That would have been a touchdown and may have changed the outcome of the game. JC did miss a open players and didn't look at all of his "options" on the field. He does need to work on that. |

Re: I waited & months for this crap?
I see this site still has a few trolls, any Irish sightings lately?
Anyways play calling was terrible it was a bad game period. Why you try to establish the run first against the giants is beyond me. We ran the ball until we had to pass which would more then cover JC's average performance for me. Defense was terrible until we finally for some unknown reason, decided putting pressure on el, should have done it form the beginning. As for CR i think he is a good CB, even though he got raped on one play, the fact that he has a chance at 3 interceptions a game means he is there (maybe I'm the only one who thinks he is a decent corner). As for throwing to Thrash i bet if the camera panned to the other side of the field moss was triple covered, and lets not act that moss was not wide on the one deep play we did run the O line just had JC scrambling to much to launch a deep ball especially when the whole D is on pass coverage. Anyways I have not been a fan of ZOrns form the beginning. Also I am no fan of Colt either I say stick with JC untill he starts throwing bad picks like colt will throw and cost us games. Maybe JC develops a little confidence and starts taking more risks that should make a few of you happy.

Re: I waited & months for this crap?
We have the players on both sides of the ball. Our time management on offense is crap. Running on a drive we need a TD, then an onside and atleast a FG to win? come on... time was running out! Second, run, run, run, run....isn't the west coast offense supposed to be lots of quick drop passing to open up the run...bullshit. Don't get me started on the first half defense.
