Re: The Official Debate Thread (Round 1)
I thought it was a clear slam dunk for McCain. Obama agreed with McCain A LOT, and there were several questions that were asked directly to Obama and he circumvented the questions.
All in all, seemed like McCain bitch clapped Obama.

From a purely objective standpoint, as one who is not a supporter of either candidate, there were no 'bitchslaps' or 'slam dunks'. In my mind the debate was a draw. |

I didn't see it as a clear slam dunk for either one. I thought it was pretty even. |

Re: The Official Debate Thread (Round 1)
yeah, i personally liked what i heard from mccain a little more, but really they basically restated the same talking points they've been using for a while.
obama probably didn't help his military vote though. he can make up some ground when they start talking education and health care. |

Re: The Official Debate Thread (Round 1)
Anyone who watched this debate and came away with the conclusion that it was a slam dunk for either candidate wasn't watching the same debate that was televised on Friday.
I think the only person that called this a slam dunk for John McCain was Rudy Guilliani, and if he knew so much about running for President and debating he would have been standing on the stage opposite Obama instead of John McCain. |

I can't believe he would not realize his profanity will easily be heard...

Re: The Official Debate Thread (Round 1)
I don't think he was saying that, but even if he was, when it is horse shit, should it not be pointed out?
haha

Watch it multiple times, he clearly does. Media has pointed it out too, saw it on Fox as well, if that makes you feel better hah.

Re: The Official Debate Thread (Round 1)
It just kinda looked to me like he was wanting to interrupt with something, but stopped and it sounded odd. I am just not sure he would do such a thing so obvious as to cuss on a national stage like that.

Re: The Official Debate Thread (Round 1)
Yes he is, it's been all over the news, I haven't really heard what the McCain camp is saying about it. They will probably ignore it, which is probably the best thing for them.

I'm sure he is.
Because we all know anything you see on YouTube is guaranteed 100% accurate and not capable of being doctored, altered or conveniently spliced together.

I love how Republicans can find all sorts of excuses for this, yet they are ready throw all sorts of YouTube links saying Obama should not be the president because he didn't put his arm over his heart during the anthem. It's pathetic.

b) I've seen the footage and I agree, he probably is saying "horseshit" or some variant of it. Oh well. A presidential candidate cursed - stop the presses. c) I'm not making any excuses for it. It is what it is - tacky debate tactics. d) I'm not throwing up YouTube links for anything, and if I had to venture a guess I'd say that if anyone is throwing up YouTube links ad nauseum it would be the Democrats.
