Re: Giants release Burress
I think you mean he hasn't been caught breaking any laws. FYI, MANY players carry guns, Plax was just a moron on not knowing how to use it. Also, I don't recall plax trying to commit suicide then have a girl (don't recall how she was affiliated with him professionally) go on TV crying to turn around and say it was all a big misunderstanding. Riiiiight, like I believe TO isn't mentally like a 10 year old! I'd take plax over TO any day of the week and twice on Sunday...but let it be known I don't want either. TO is such a MASSIVE head case he makes everyone else look like MENSA candidates!

Re: Giants release Burress
With the legal trouble that Burress is in he is going to need a lawyer with enough clout to get Stevie Wonder a drivers license.
None the less, Burress and Owens out of the NFC East? That changes the look of the whole division actually. |

Re: Giants release Burress
Let's see...a license for the gun costs what, $100? If that gun were licensed, Plax would not be in such trouble right now.
Penalty for getting caught with an unlicensed gun? $27 million in lost wages, although if he plays again after jail then some of this will be made back. Plax made a mistake which was incredibly expensive.

Re: Giants release Burress
IF Plaxico's legal troubles are behind him I'd sign him to a 1 yr deal with incentives. He went to high school in VA, he visits Redskins Park every offseason and knows the guys on the team and was friends w/ST. He could mentor the younger WR's and be a solid #2 for us. If his legal troubles are behind him and he makes some personal changes off the field SIGN HIM!!

I'm pretty sure that if it was all behind him the Giants would have kept him. He's gonna do jail time ....how much I don't know and then the NFL will suspend him for a while ,the Giants had to move on for life without Plax he is 32, now wether that means a trade for a widout or taking a chance on the draft and developing someone ...I don't know but we had to move on.Burress has talent no question but he's not worth the headach. |

Re: Giants release Burress
Sorry, but to even look at Plax would be a little ridiculous. Every contract that we now write, includes wording to make the ota's etc as close to mandatory as possible, obviously that is important in our eyes. Plax has never done those willingly and I don't think that would change now. One point made was that TO never gelled with his teammates, but that is not true. He was a very well respected, but divisive person. He simply created a following within the locker room. Plax should not, and hopefully will not be a Skins player ever, He would be much better off in Cincinatti

Re: Giants release Burress
there was probably a reason the steelers let him walk. there definitely was a reason the giants let him walk. talented, but way too much baggage. like said earlier, a lesser version of Owens. i say no way
