gane cast

was it just me or was gibbs calling a very conservitive game again. many many times last nite joey t said this was gibbs offensive. but correct me if i am wrong when we had both rypien and willaims at the helm we threw the ball deep. i can recall many games where both clark and sanders were on the recieving end of those passes. i understand that greg willaims WILL be our next coach but i think gibbs and offensive staff need to open up the play book this off season

They need to open it up right now. The season is officially over. Open it up, try crazy things! I'm not saying concede the season, but now's the time to evaluate talent and plays.

Guys, anytime Ramsey set up to look deep he had defenders in his face and knocking him on his arse. Check the tape, I counted several plays where Ramsey took a deep drop and looked down the field, he just wasn't getting the time to get the throw off.

That's been the story of the entire season, we just don't have a line that does a good enough job in pass protection.

We should we open things up and try crazy things? Why don't we work on perfecting the offensive game plan we have and building on that?

Smoot - our offensive gameplan hasn't exactly panned out for us. It's been okay, but why not try new things and evaluate talent in game situations before the begining of next season?

The Super Bowl years we had a great vertical game (Rypien got sacked like 11 tmes all year when he won)

Most of the other years it was exactly like sunday- take away 100+ yards of ...hell just take away 50 yards of penalties...and that is 2 field goals and that = a win

I remember hating the 4th quarter cause Pettibone loved the prevent.

On some of the plays he didn't have time to look deep, but he lost confidence in the line early so when he was blitzed later in the game even when we picked it up he rushed his throws. I'm not as down on Ramsey, he was ok but I'd like to see more guys get involved in the passing game, where was Gardner, Thrash or McCants? I think the problem is not that we lack playmakers, but we don't give the guys we've got a chance to make plays. That's the biggest problem I see with the offense, because we all know that these guys have talent it just hasn't equated to big plays so far this year.

Ramsey has definitely taken more shots than I'm used to seeing a Gibbs qb take. The line play has been uneven all year, I'm sure that's going to be an area addressed this offseason.

Aren't you guys comparing Apples to Oranges? We did have more of a vertical game back in those days because look who our receivers were! I mean, I think Coles still has a chance to develop into a player like Gary Clark, but other than that, I have no idea about the other receivers' futures other than Cooley (which I know isn't a receiver.)

I think we need to take a long hard look at drafting a WR, possibly with out first rounder depending on who's available.

It's no secret we need playmakers on offense. Gardner is gone after next year and unless he turns in to Art Monk Jr. overnight we should gladly let him walk.

I thought the game plan this past week was about spot on. Gutsy call to have only McCants and Cooley running deep routes into the endzone after making a clutch first down. Great call. Not a great decision to throw it into coverage, though. A conservative run or two would have set up an easy game tying FG. Then let our #2 defense do thier job. Damn if we do. Damn if we don't.

I agree. If he is not avalible when were up, I think we trade down or take David Pollack from Georgia. However, we defintley need offensive playmakers, and this guy would be a great complement to Coles. And rest assured, that guy dosent drop a damn thing.

I don't think drafting Mike Williams is a good idea. I think he is going to be a good player, but not playing all year, he'll have to do well in the combine to get back into the first round IMO. I don't care how good he was last season at USC he hasn't played in a game in a full year. That's not good.

Besides, the Skins need a the best pass rusher they can get. Another receiver isn't nearly as important. I don't care who goes where, if Coles has surgery, you can line up almost anyone on the other side and they will produce. Case in point: Albert Connell. If Ramsey comes into his own we can pick up a receiver in the 2nd or 3rd round and see if they can beat out McCants, Jacobs, Thrash for the #2 spot.
