Re: National love for Giants, Eagles' drafts out of control?
Isn't Philly the ONLY team in the NFC East who HASN"T won a Super Bowl? Not in the last 10 years...Not in the last 20 years.....Not EVER?

The draft is a shit throwing contest. And the Cowboys and Redskins didn't have that many big pieces of shit to throw at the wall.

I hate to show love for another organization but please read what the Eagles did in this years draft by trading down. Wow.

Re: National love for Giants, Eagles' drafts out of control?
From the above article...
What Heckert and Reid did, in brief: • Traded the 85th overall pick (third round) to the Giants for the 91st (third-round) and the 164th (fifth-round) picks. • Traded the 91st pick to Seattle for the 137th (fifth-round), 213th (seventh-round) and the Seahawks' third-round pick in 2010. • Traded the fifth-round pick acquired from Seattle plus the 141st pick (fifth-round, acquired from Cleveland) to New England for cornerback Hobbs. • Traded the fifth-round pick acquired from the Giants to New Orleans for the 222nd pick (seventh-round), plus the Saints' fifth-round pick in 2010. • Traded the seventh-round pick acquired from New Orleans to Indianapolis for the Colts' sixth-round pick in 2010. • Used the seventh-round pick acquired from Seattle to pick guard Paul Fanaika. So they also got a 3rd, 5th, and a 6th rounder next year. Pretty smart thinking imo. Now if they would have spent a couple $'s every now and again, they would have most likely won a SB by now. I'm glad they don't. |

Re: National love for Giants, Eagles' drafts out of control?
Again, like I mentioned, saying the Eagles got enough in this draft to trade for a lot of picks in next years draft requires the belief that Maclin fills a need and will be a great player. And then, whatever your opinion is of Maclin, grade the Giants fairly based on the fact that they didn't get him.

Re: National love for Giants, Eagles' drafts out of control?
Hey they can say all they want about them, but I think that we are the most improved team in the NFC East. Yeah, the Eagles did good, They still had very little net gain, except for the reciever that they drafted. Runyan, for Andrews is a net loss although they got younger. Peters for Thomas is maybe a slight gian, and agian got younger. The Giants made thier D-Line better, but they cant get everyone on the field and they were already very strong. We have improved our defense immensley, I also think we have improved our O-line and reciever corps. Our only question will be JC. If he does great our offense will do great. He has all the tools, to work with.

Now, we could be the most improved w/ the additions of AH, Dock, Orapko. Who knows though. Our Oline isn't exactly getting younger either. It's going to come down to JC and if any of our WR's can make some plays. |
