kinda sucks to have to gut your roster of all the quality depth. luckily i didnt need to sign any top 10 draftees, i dont even want to know what they are askin.
I basically had to do the same things.

1. Resign some players to longer, cap relieving contracts. (If it don't help the cap don't do it)

2. Take out the trash and cut every depth position player not worth the money you are paying them.

3. Re build your depth with low budget, but quality free agents.

4. Get what you really want in the draft.

I began my cap saving moves in my first season though. I traded away CP for a 1st rounder and cut ARE. It hurt a little the following offseason, but I got my salary cap back under control by doing the things I mentioned above. Next offseason I might have to extend some contracts again for cap relief, but eventually I will free myself of this cycle.

Yupp I got to my second year. My friends and I did a franchise year, in one day lol. We each took a team in the NFC EAST. They got a bunch of decent players and were F'ed in the cap the next year. I took a more balanced approach and i was still kinda f'ed.

ya know, the all caps, i might get that, you being excited and all, but WHY in the WORLD would you spell out FITTY? clearly you know where the 1, 2, and 3 are on the keyboard, the 5 and the 0 are so close to there, it's like you could reach out and touch them.

Wow you guys have a lot of time on your hands. I just don't have that kind of time to devote to the game, back in the day, maybe but still there were other things I wanted to do.

I play 1 game a day on weekdays. An hour a day isn't that much. On some weekends I may play a few games if I don't have any plans, then other weekends like the one that just passed I will not even touch my games.

On a side note. I cannot wait and see how well the player development plugin works.

Is this coming out in the update? Is there a link I can read about what it's all about?

I don't keep my PS3 connected to the internet, I usually plug it up about 1-2 times a month to get the updated rosters and then take it back upstairs to the HDTV.

Don't the PS3's have built in WiFi? You could keep it connected upstairs.

Also if it doesn't, you could use your laptop as a wireless adapter. Search on YouTube, there are a ton of easy instructional videos. I do this for my xbox 360, and it works great.

It's actually an add on that you have to pay additional for. It is supposed to help your players progress faster and better ala Adrian Peterson. You can only use it in Franchise modes.

Re: Madden 10 reviews

Anyone notice in the week 1 update they have Mike Williams on the roster but the pic is totally not him.

Anyone have an online franchise with any openings going on the 360?

Re: Madden 10 reviews

played against teh colts and peyton manning for the first time last night and wholly hell does the game make him just like he is in real life. freakin no huddle offense at any time, adjusting his lineman and TE blockers after he reads your blitz, ability to get the ball off a split second before he gets tackled, i won barely but he had me in fits for the first 3 quarters. he would even do fake snaps with the screen suddenly pulling up as if the ball was snapped, or sit there and not hike the ball at the same count, sometimes we would be at teh line forever.

it was alot of fun.

Re: Madden 10 reviews

it is funny the way peyton changes his plays before every single snap. i have not found a zone coverage that can keep him at bay. i go to press man coverage (dime - slots: man.cover 1.qb spy) blitz my lb and place him in the middle, blitz my fs and place him between the lt and the lg. and if there is a rb in the backfield, i select the defender who is assigned to him, and blitz off whichever side of manning he happens to be standing on, if he runs a pattern out of the backfield, i cover him - if not, i blitz manning. so i have my 4 down linemen rushing, my mlb rushing, my fs rushing, and depending on the rb, my ss rushing. leaving every single wr in single man coverage, but the pressure comes quick, so he has to let it go in no time. it doesn't work every time, but it works a hell of a lot better than the zone coverages, and is also stellar against the run.

i'm in year 3 of my franchise, my lineup looks like this.
qb - myself (ovr 94) / vick
rb - portis / r. bush / drafted player
fb - vickers / sellers
wr - calvin johnson / hester / r. bush (ovr 89 @ wr) / d thomas / drafted player
te - cooley / v davis / drafted player
lt - peters / can't remember
lg - drafted player (ovr 90) / drafted player
c - mack (ovr 90) / can't remember
rg - dockery / drafted player
rt - clady / drafted player

le - english (ovr 88) / jarmon
dt - ngata / haynesworth / can't remember / drafted player
re - merriman (ovr 99) / drafted player
lolb - orakpo (ovr 85) / lawson
mlb - willis / fletcher / drafted player
rolb - timmons (ovr 85) / drafted player
cb - asomugha / rodgers-cromartie / d. hall / carr / barnes
fs - merriweather / t. jackson
ss - landry (ovr 92) / moore

k - janikowski
p - can't remember (kpw 97)

kr - hester / bush
pr - hester / bush

Re: Madden 10 reviews

So I went back and played Madden 09, at a buds place who doesnt have the new one. All I can say is Madden 10 is so much better.

I know we said that 10 slowed the game down a lot, but going back to 09 I felt like everything was 8x in speed. It really wasn't fun to play.
