I like Reed, glad to see him played well. He's part of my All-Hate Team...players that some fans hate with a passion...

Reed Doughty
Rock Cartwright
Jason Campbell
Justin Tryon
DeAngelo Hall

I'm sure I'm forgetting someone.

Except Alridge had fumble-itis all camp long and if you add that clown shoes ball in the wrong arm knocked on his ass like a rag doll garbage fumble tonight I would say it's a problem.

Oh yeah, if Alridge has the dropsies then you gotta go with Dorsey or Mason.

But just in terms of their build -- they could be the same dude for all I know.

Anyone catch the fact that Blache said Jarmon, Doughty and C. Wilson will make the team?

K. Johnson asked him something about who stepped up and he replied that Wilson had but that Wilson "already had a ticket on the boat". He made similar comments were made about Jarmon and Doughty.

Glad to hear that. And I'm wondering where are those people that were pissing all over the corn flakes when Jarmon was drafted.

I was thinking Reed was a lock to begin with. Jarmon cost a third, so he'd better make the team. Chris Wilson was up in the air from my perspective, but I'm just a bloke typing about a team on my PC.

I figured Jarmon would make it since they gave up next year's 3rd round pick for him. As for Doughty, I've always thought the safety positions were basically set.

I wasn't so sure about Wilson, though. Tonight he definitely shined. Still scratching my head on who the LBs are going to be after Blades at #4.

As for the whole Rock v. Mason/Aldridge/Dorsey.

Rock certainly is susceptable to being cut but, IMO, no one has really stepped up and shown they would be an improvement to his overall contributions to the team. It's not that Rock is stellar, its that all those vying for his spot are equally mundane and don't fill all the other roles that Rock does. My gut is that we go with CP, LB and Rock & Aldridge or Dorsey.

To me, Mason = Kenny Watson.

Re: Vinny tips his hand on the final 53

Blache said he went into the game looking at 3 or 4 players but that during the game another played poorly enough to cause him to question whether the person should make the team. He didn't identify the 3 or 4 he was originally looking at nor the one who played so poorly as to cause Blache to question his original assessment.

Any guesses as to who was on the bubble before tonight in Blache's mind and who joined them?

Word is that Anthony Montgomery has been on the bubble. Renaldo Wynn could go either way, but he hasn't shown much this preseason.

Looks like the secondary is basically locked up. Barnes and Tryon will probably stay. But I'd say the real competition is for the 5th, 6th, and 7th linebacker spots (assuming they keep 7).

I agree. Henson was all over the place but he also got a 15 yard penalty and got beat by a RB coming out of the BF. I heard Blache talk about Wilson. I think he's shown he can get to the QB. Tough call on the rest.

Who's word? You been getting insider stuff from SS or do you have your own guys?

Re: Vinny tips his hand on the final 53

This is my guess of some of who will get cut:

Wynn (did he even play during pre-season?)
Alridge (fumble in KO sealed his fate)
Westbrook (toast)
Henson
Rayner (victim of the numbers game)
Buzbee or Jackson (one of them will make it)
I would cut Randle-El if he wasn't going to affect the cap, he drops too many balls and punt returns are no longer his forte.

Mitchell is a lock and either Dorsey or Mason could be a surprise in making the team. Shit, the way Mitchell has played I would make him my #2 receiver.

John Czarnecki from Fox Sports reported that as 10 trades that need to be made on an article from September 2nd. Here you go:

5. DT Anthony Montgomery to the Panthers: Ever since the Panthers lost mountain man Maake Kemoeatu at defensive tackle, GM Marty Hurney has been looking for a big replacement. Washington's Montgomery is 6-foot-6, 320 pounds and very unhappy about being demoted from the starting lineup with the arrival of Albert Haynesworth.
