Re: Offensive line depth (R. Thomas' injury)
I think it's wayyyy too early to be second guessing taking Orakpo. No ones entire career is going to be based on the first 2 games of their career. For all we know both Rey and Oher could get worse while Orakpo gets better.

Re: Offensive line depth (R. Thomas' injury)
I really hope Kendall comes back. Is Mike Williams active? Ray Brown still around?

Re: Offensive line depth (R. Thomas' injury)
We said last season Kendall is old , now we want him back. Look we need to go with the back up players we have on the roster. Thats how young guys learn and gain experince so let Chad Rhinehart get his chance to play. If he plays poor than no point bringing him back after the season. As for Kendall what kind of shape is he in to play for us? Today we had trouble opening holes for Portis , so why not put big Mike Williams at RG and let him maul some people. It is time to let the Rookies play like every other team does. Sink or Swim Time.

Re: Offensive line depth (R. Thomas' injury)
I don't think Cowher would make much sense here anyway. What makes sense is to bring in someone with a WC background to make for a smooth transition. Holmgren, Shanahan, or even Gruden. I wouldn't argue with any of those 3.

How does Mike Sherman not get a 2nd chance? He had a pretty good W/L record in GB.

Re: Offensive line depth (R. Thomas' injury)
You are always the voice of reason, and this post sounds to me like you have already given up on Zorn. Maybe, I am taking it out of context, but if you feel this way, Zorn is in deep trouble. I thought there were some questionable calls, but I did not realize how mad everyone was. I hope that everyone is wrong, because I am sick of this team starting over.

Re: Offensive line depth (R. Thomas' injury)
Interestingly, the Lions game may be the most important game of JZ's career.........

Re: Offensive line depth (R. Thomas' injury)
Ok, I am as irritated as everyone else. BUT Zorn has only called plays for 1 full season, and he has shown he can be gutsy/creative. I don't imagine it is as easy as he thought it would be, but let's give this guy a chance. I think the next 5 games will be his watershed moment. He either steps up to the plate, and demonstrates that he "gets it", or we let one more season slip away, and start with a clean slate at Coach/QB next year.
I think Zorn likes to see a "kill shot" call, and then when/if it fails he doesn't reload, but instead retreats to the run. The only way to get past this, is with practice and time actually calling offenses against live NFL Defenses. I think/hope he will get it and we will rock on. Time will tell for sure. GO SKINS |

It's not Zorn's fault that wide receiver Devin Thomas and fullback Mike Sellers dropped passes that could have given the Redskins a 14-0 lead in the first half, but, as the Redskins' leader everything obviously falls on him. "We just have to understand every play is big no matter what quarter it is, no matter where we are on the field, and we've got to get the ball in the end zone," Campbell said. "No matter how much we move the ball, we have to score points."

Technically, Sherman Smith is the OC (first time in his career), but his job is to work on crafting the game plan during the week. Come Game Day, it's Zorn's show. Should it be Sherman Smith's show? Should it be like it is in Baltimore where OC Cam Cameron basically calls the plays on game day and John Harbaugh (who like Zorn never called plays before last year) make the head coach decisions, such as when to go for it on 4th down?

And if they do get it together, like Theissman and JG1 after the 0-5 start, then we will all be very happy fans. |
