And let me ask you a question since you are so high on Cutler. How many times, in his career, has Cutler had a huge game but the Broncos still lost despite that effort?

You are basically saying the Redskins won this game in spite of Jason Campbell, and not because he led the team to the points that won the game.

I'm just sick how you are looking at JC's stat line and thinking that's what to expect from him. Dude has 1 career 3 pick game in almost 3 seasons as a starting qb and now all of a sudden he's some horrible quarterback. He made the plays that put the points on the board and won the game for us. No matter how you look at it that's what it comes down to.

And I can guarantee you Carolina's coaches are looking at the game film from the Bucs game and saying, we better account for Jason Campbell and keep pressure on him otherwise he's gonna go deep to Moss all game.
I'm not Mechanix544, but I'll chime in here -- that 59-yarder to Moss was a thing of beauty, but Campbell misses on those way more than he connects. The downfield accuracy just isn't there for JC, though I do believe with more attempts he could get better.

Thank god we had a defense shut them down to basically only 6 points.

Now the thing about Cutler, I never really said anything concerning him, and I sure aint on his stick, but lemme take a shot at this.

How many times has Cutler, in his career, albeit short, thrown for 350+ yards, and compare that to Campbells. How many three td games has campbell ever had? compare that to cutlers, shoot, Cutler even has a better winning pct. with much worse defenses.......Why?

Because he makes plays. Teams need to account for him. Hes a weapon. He influences games, not just manages them in a piss poor manner, hoping not to make a mistake to influence it in a negative way. Teams DO NOT look at the upcoming game with the skins and say, "We've better account for this guy every play, or hes gonna eat us alive." Know why? Because hes never done that at all in his entire career against even the POOREST of teams.(Just look at our first three games this year.)Oh, and look what Cutlers doing in Chicago, with absolutely NO receiver corps of any kind. Campbell has better weapons, hes just not a winner.

Now, let the excuses flow. (like I said, where is the allegiance to this mediocre soul coming from anywho?)
Thats great you showing your man crush on Jay Cutler. Why don't you go and get on the Bears bandwagon now. We won't miss you around here. Cutler had how many picks against the Bears when they lost?

Re: Redskins game balls

I can't believe all the animosity towards Campbell now. One 3 pick game his entire career and now that's the standard to judge him by? And those picks can be attributed to him trying to make plays. Poor judgement yes, but how many of us were screaming (I know I was) for the offense to open up and start putting fear into defenses? People are also forgetting that he also threw 2 huge touchdowns that ultimately put up the points that won the game for us.

I mean yes obviously people are concerned (as am I) that when we start playing legit teams (aka not the Bucs) that the type of game we had today will make us lose, but people also forget that there is time to learn from mistakes and as his 1 career 3 pick game shows, this is more of an anomaly than a regular occurence.

I completely agree. Jay Cutler throws a three pick game, it's an anomoly. He'll bounce back. Brett Favre throws a three pick game and he's a gunslinger, courageous, a winner. Tony Romo throws for three picks in a win, he's "gutsy". You know, he has all the intangibles to be great.

Jason Campbell throws his first three pick of his career, he should be benched, and displays bad judgement. Yeah right. I suspect that Jason won the respect and admiration, not that he didn't already have it, of his teammates after today's performance.

On a somewhat related note, it was great to see the guys on the sideline getting stirred up. I saw Portis on a couple of occasions getting fired up.

You just knew the haters were waiting for a game like this. It's laughable at this point really. The guy plays a bad half and people think that's proof he needs to be benched, as if one bad half gets guys benched in this league all the time.

I'm actually happy for the haters, now they don't have to make up stuff to hate on Campbell.

The first half of this game can now be the new "proof" that Campbell sucks, kinda like that Solomon Wilcots video that Nflnick used to preach with.

I voted other.

I give it to Tampa for being so bad even we could beat them.

Re: Redskins game balls

Campbell hung in there, overcame his mistakes, and we pulled out a W. I think that is huge and he'll get better because of it. With 3 sacks, an INT and FF recovery, (Good play Jarmon!), I gave it to the "D".

Doughty and McIntosh were balling. The only touchdown surrendered by the d was a gimme from our offense. The defense ruled.

Man, I am just happy the D looked good today. Really good job up front and the secondary was solid. Tryon stepped in, glad to see Smoot on the bench. Reed and Horton sharing PT worked well. Big Po getting a sack. It took several games, but this effort was something to build off of.

Re: Redskins game balls

I'm going with the D.

I know it was the Bucs but if our D can play like they did today for most of the season AND Portis can play like today we might actually salvage something from this season.
