Add a Veteran WR?
Brandon Marshall, Issac Bruce, Terrell Owens are probably all available. Any ideas? Moss needs some help.

Re: Add a Veteran WR?
I think the receivers we have are fine. We just need an offensive line that will give some time to get a pass off.
Kelly and Thomas are well on there way to being more then adequate support for Moss. |

Re: Add a Veteran WR?
Nope. We have enough veteran wideouts. Adding anyone new would only take playing time away from the guys who need all the playing time they can get -- Thomas and Kelly.

Re: Add a Veteran WR?
I agree with Gtothearry and Beemnseven. We need a better o-line and we don't want to take away time from our young receivers.

Re: Add a Veteran WR?
I would seriously consider that move. We are not ok a WR and havent been in many many years. ARE needs to go period. That contract needs to be taken off the books this offseason. TO should not come here. Marshall is a record setting WR. I would not give a draft pick for him. Our young WR can still develop if we bring in someone else to start. Moss time is ticking as well.

Re: Add a Veteran WR?
Next year will be year 3 for Kelly and Thomas, I think you have to keep pushing forward with these guys. They both gave us some flashes this year.

Re: Add a Veteran WR?
Why not get the most for cooley why we can? We will not run a two TE set, you just don't see them being very effective or even used anymore with any sucsess. Marshall is a beast, and Davis has unlimited potential, and the best is McDouche now has a prob with schefftler, how great! It would be a fair trade, he would salivate over. Marshall would be a good lad under Shanny, allowing us to focus on the oline and the rest of our needs in the draft. Hell throw in moss for their second or third on top of the deal. I would not be surprised to see this deal happen (minus the moss)

Re: Add a Veteran WR?
I like our guys we have now. Get a decent position coach and see if he can make something happen with them. Do what the Eagles did and the Giants and give the new guys a bunch of curl routes, come backs, and out routes. Give Moss the slants and go routes.
I'd also say build up the OL for the future. My only concern is people, like me wanting OL, but presume we do better next year we will fall farther down the draft and may miss out on getting a decent QB unless next years class is full of them. If there is only 2 or 3 good ones like this year then we might as well pick one up this year. Pick up a couple of free agent OL and in the second round pick up an OL. Then ask a bunch to show up for camp. I also would not be against moving down in the draft for more picks so long as it doesn't hinder us from picking up a decent QB. JC is not the answer. Nice backup. But we need a legit #1 QB for the future. |

Re: Add a Veteran WR?
I forgot to add, sorry....
If we are looking at a big WR then I would say look into the FA's don't throw away any draft picks. The only one I know available right now that makes teams scheme around him is T.O. who is a FA at season's end. What happened with Bolden? Is this is FA year also? I know the team was looking to trade him then simply gave up and kept him. Then I don't think they gave him a better contract like he wanted. |

Re: Add a Veteran WR?
So far today we're talking about adding a veteran WR and trading Cooley for Marshall. I feel like we've already forgotten about the 2009 season. Offensive line anyone?

Re: Add a Veteran WR?
Nope..move Kelly and Thomas to 1/2 and drop Moss to the slot. That immediately better use of their talents.

Re: Add a Veteran WR?
Thought I clearly stated that we should focus our draft on the OL?

Re: Add a Veteran WR?
Yeah but that almost seems like an afterthought, at least that's the way it came across.

Re: Add a Veteran WR?
There is some good OL FA coming available ... or so I hope. Plus the draft.
