I hear Haslett is a yeller and name caller to his players. That said, I don't think that would go well with players like Albert Haynesworth.

i'm very pleased zorn was fired. i'm ok with the shanahan and allen hires (in a vacuum.) The only thing ive been upset about is the manner in the "searches" were carried out and the implication that nothing has really changed in the way the front office operates. There's atleast 5 known candidates for our DC position. Whats the problem with me having an opinion on which one(s) i would like and which ones i would HATE?

Romeo Crennel:
Romeo Crennel - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Quote:
Romeo Crennel (born June 18, 1947 in Lynchburg, Virginia) is the former head coach of the Cleveland Browns of the National Football League. Before becoming the head coach of the Browns, Crennel won three Super Bowls in four seasons as the defensive coordinator of the New England Patriots. Crennel has participated in six Super Bowls winning five of them during his coaching career.
Jim Haslett:
Jim Haslett - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Quote:
James Donald "Jim" Haslett (born December 9, 1955 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania) is an American football coach and former linebacker. He is currently the head coach for the Florida Tuskers of the United Football League. Previously, he served as head coach for the New Orleans Saints and St. Louis Rams in the National Football League.
Mike Zimmer:
Mike Zimmer - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Quote:
He joined the Dallas Cowboys in 1994 as an assistant coach of the nickel defense under Barry Switzer. He was promoted to defensive backs coach (1995-99) before being promoted to defensive coordinator in 2000. The 2004 Dallas Cowboys gave up the fewest yards in the NFL while running an aggressive speedy 4-3 defense. Despite the Cowboys' problems over the years, Zimmer has survived coaching changes (Switzer, Chan Gailey, Dave Campo, Bill Parcells) and rumored to have been a candidate for the head coaching job at the University of Nebraska (2003). For the 2005 season, he implemented the 3-4 defense favored by head coach Parcells, although Zimmer had no prior experience with it.

I didn't know that either. I grew up in Loudoun County Va.

Re: Coaching Staff update

How about Jack Del Rio if he gets canned by Jacksonville? He was DC in Minnesota, was a position coach (LB I believe) in Baltimore, seems like he's pretty no nonsense but will put players in positions to succeed..

Re: Coaching Staff update

I think Del Rio would be a great choice, though it seems like ownership in Jacksonville will probably be convinced to keep him.

I have mixed feelings about Gray staying as DC. It would feel to me like Snyder is just trying to appease those (players mainly) who were upset when Williams was sent packing.

Perry Fewell could be a sleeper

The former lead singer for Jane's addiction? Wow.

If Gray is hired as D.C., all it means is that was his payment for agreeing to a sham interview and making a mockery of the rooney rule and slapping the face of every minority assistant coach in the league.

Dude is your nick name gloomy Gus? Everything you post on this site is negative!! I understand the Skins have sucked for years now, and the owner is still suspect, but it seems they are trying to go in the right direction. Maybe you should try a different team…Wait to see who wins the superbowl then root for them

so whats your nick name then? would you support the decision to make lil bow wow our defensive coordinator? Or Mike Martz? Or how about we just fire Bruce Allen and turn the franchise over to Matt Millen? Would you "support" those moves and be positive about them? I doubt it. I feel the same way about Jerry Gray. If Romeo Crennel is hired, will you criticize me for being "negative" about Jerry Gray? I don't Jerry Gray as our DC. Its an opinion. Partly because he wouldn't be earing the job on his own merit, but rather because it was his reward for being a "company man" and partly because he's nowhere near being the best candidate for the job.

Are we even looking at Romeo? I also read somewhere that John Fox has been given the opportunity to opp out his final year in Carolina. Could he be on our radar as a DC?

i highly doubt that John Fox would chose to leave his head coaching job to be a defensive coordinator for another team. If fox opts out of his contract, it'll be for another HC job somewhere - and one that would offer him a multi-year contract.

Even if carolina decided to fire fox so they could go after Cowher, Fox would most certainly become the #1 HC prospect out there. unless there were no other vacancies, i can't see him becomming a coordinator. he'd actually probably decide to just sit out a year before being a DC.

If Coughlin doesn't survive in NY, Fox could be a possibility there.
