They kept the fucking hammer down against the Eagles. They wanted to embarass them, and humiliate them. Nobody from Philly cried like Brooking did. The cowboys deserved it because their offense was dead the whole game and their defense is shit. It's the NFL people, if the score is being run up on you, that's because you are letting it.
Wrong, they shouldnt have gone for it on 4th down with 3 mins left, when the game was won. Gibbs would have never done it. I bring up Gibbs, because he showed sportsmanship.

Should they have kicked a field goal instead since they were on like the 30 yard line? I'd say it's easier to stop a 4th down attempt than a field goal.
Or perhaps they should have just taken a knee even though there were 2 minutes left. To me that's just as bad as going for the TD because it makes the cowboys look like they need charity.

I guess the only acceptable option would have been to run the ball, but if the RB broke it for a TD we'd still be in the same situation.

Exactly.

I said this in the beginning of the thread that these are professional football players. It's not Central Virginia Valley State University College versus the University of Alabama. I have no problem with scoring every time you have a chance.

I'm only sad the Vikings didn't put up more points on them.

So you had no prob with the Pats running up the score on us, when there is realistically no impact that score had on the result?

The latest is Roy Williams was whining following the game about not getting looks. Three picks, $45 million later, and not one catch from this bum in a huge playoff game.

Probably one of the worst trades of this era.

Even if it's true that it's classless to go for the score in that situation (debatable but whatever) it's even MORE classless to whine about after the fact and preen like a chump in front of the sidelines. How did Gibbs react when Belichick went for it on fourth down in the fourth quarter leading 45-0? By stating emphatically that there was nothing wrong with what he did. Let other people call it classless Keith, you just got your bitch ass whooped so ride out quietly into the night.

lol werd

it's classless because on paper it would've looked like a closer game if they would've stopped trying? LOL.. you're going to have your starters in the full game eventually and score every single time that you can.. like I mentioned.. in-game experience is the best time to practice it.. it's the Cowboys fault that they made it look like a drill and not a battle

So when did it become classless for an O to go out and do their job by scoring. I personaly thought that was he best thing the Vikes could have done because at that point in the game they still had Petterson in the game running the ball. After that TD the O could just take a knee and run out the clock not riskin anyone getting injured.

Nope, not a single bit. It just proves that changes needed to be made. If you are that inferior to your competition, you deserve it.

Fair enough. I guess I just disagree. It doesnt make sense to score, when the game is 100 percent over. Burn the clock and end the game quicker, without rubbing it in.

i didnt think the game was 100% over. the only way the vikes could have burned the clock was to go for it or attempt a 47 yd (?) field goal.

you miss that fg and the boys believe again.

Exactly, the Vikings really didn't have a bunch of good choices down there. Had they missed a field goal the Cowboys come out blazing, which in my mind, means the game isn't over.

Brooking made himself and his team look bad.

Exactly. There was no more running out they could do.

Also, the idea of running the score up in the NFL just seems silly to me. I know there are obvious differences between this team and that team, but overall the league does have a little bit of parity at least.

ESPECIALLY in the playoffs, there are no excuses for getting your ass handed to you.
