LT or Westbrook? Who would you rather have of the two?

Assuming we're talking about a limited role only, I would take Westbrook. But only if he's 100% back from those concussions of course.

He's made of glass and McCoy is a younger, healthier clone of him.

Please don't come to the Redskins.

Re: Eagles release B. Westbrook, per NFL Network

I'm not trying to Skins bash but just trying to compare and contrast the styles of competitive teams in this league against ours.

The Eagles organization basically cut their best standout offensive player when he was close to his peak, up or down. That had to be a tough decision for them to make but it was made and with no real dire consequences to them other than sentimental as they have young replacements ready to pick up that slack.

The Eagles made a decision like this last year when they cut a pivotal defenseman in Brain Dawkins, yet their team as a whole still managed to make the playoffs.

Where do you think we'd be next year if we, contractual consequences aside, cut Portis and Fletcher this offseason? Our hopes on next season would seem really dim compared to the more competitive teams in the league.

Bottom line, to me, is we'll be more competitive NFL wide when we finally bring in the long overdue depth we've needed since the Snyder spending spree days. Here's to seeing our Skins grow deeper and stronger...Hail to the Redskins.

Word is that Portis will not be the next one released. Much to some of your dismay.

And no, I don't want Westbrook or LT on this team. CP has more to offer at this point than either one of those guys.

Lamont Jordan was released. Does he count as the next one released?

That sounds good maybe cutting them is the reason they only scratched their way into the playoffs. Maybe with those two players they do more.

???...They went to the NFC Championship last year and (technically) tied for first in the NFC East with an 11-5 record.

They've been pretty solid year in, year out. They run a more scheme dependent structure than talent dependent one.

Since 2000 the eagles have 103 wins in the regular season, we have 70 in that same span. That's a two perfect season disparity after 10 years. They've clearly been scheme oriented in that time where we've relied on a talent heavy format.

...Not going down on them but I have to applaud them for making tough decisions like cutting one of the faces of their franchise and believing they'll be a better team for it.

Yet their fans want McNabb traded...and it sounds like it may happen.

I like Donovan, but I think this releasing of Westbrook is the first sign of a major rehaul in the works for Philly over the next few seasons. Donovan has peaked, and needs to be shopped around now to get maximum value.

It has sounded like all along that Shanny plans to use Portis and thinks he can have success, IF he cooperates. If the Coach can install his Plug-and-Play RB system like he had in Denver, Portis, Alridge, Mason, Ganther, Betts, Tomlinson or even Matty (after P90X) could all be weekly 100 yd/game rushers.

Not surprising that he was (or will be) cut. It was expected. What's shocking is that Byron Westbrook has an NFL job and Brian doesn't.

Maybe we could sign Brian Westbrook and have him pretend to be Byron during the week...who of course spends the week pretending to be Brian. Won't that be fun?!

lmao. I never understood why if he was such a good "Brian Westbrook Clone" during those two weeks of the year why we didnt try gettin him a few carries during a game. Wit good genes, he prolly could have benefitted us more there than at CB lol
