Re: Smoot To Dallas??
possible only an hour and a half till smoot is not a redskins anymore
i hope he agrees to come back but reports on espn say we want rolle even though we deny it. Wow never thought of it that way if we get rolle we will be better but will lack that spirit smoot brings, he will be missed but if he goes to dallas he is instantly an enemy! look at the projected places we play all of them!! that means we play smoot next year or he will be on our team i hope it is at home i think the seahalks are at home and dallas and new york are in the division so he will be in Fed Ex field again! Y did espn not put washington as a projected place for smoot but put the only projected place for rolle at the skins, most people have 3 or for projections and rolle has only us and smoot is not one with us and pierce is. but if i had to choose pierce or smoot i would pick pierce but i am SURE that some disagree... hopefully it is just some |

Re: Smoot To Dallas??
sorry man i would have to disagree with you on that one. You can get any MLB between Washington and Arrington and they will look decent. Without Smoot we are missing a piece of the heart of our team even if we get Rolle to replace him. If we sign Smoot and not Pierce we still have a shot with Barrow plus we have some young guys who could be the next Pierce like Clifton Smith. Also there are some good FA MLB's out there specifically Hartwell that I wouldn't mind having.

I've wanted to keep Smoot, but if he ends up in Dallas, I say screw him.

Re: Smoot To Dallas??
Maybe Marshall will slide to MLB if Pierce doesnt resign. And if he is healthy we still have Barrow.

Re: Smoot To Dallas??
The ESPN list was compiled by Pastabelly. Probably did it to screw with skins fans. The fat POS.
Gibbs has been sounding pretty optimistic about Smoot lately. We'll see! It's 11:24 PM on the night of March 1st...

Re: Smoot To Dallas??
the FA MLBs are going to be cheaper than rolle (who's the only corner i'd really look at.. law is older and more expensive, very recently injured etc)... i think pierce is mroe of a system player, but its our system and he obviously knows it VERY well, so i think he'd be more important in keeping the D rolling, even though smoot is a better player.... CB in williams defense (which none of the FA MLBs know, but rolle does) is very simple.... cover your guy, and don't expect any help...

Re: Smoot To Dallas??
I don't believe DAL will sign any CB for much more than a $10 million dollar signing bonus. And if Smoot signs with DAL just to follow Dieon's shadow, he is really out of his mind.

Yeah. Pasquerelli predicted Rabasch would end up with us too. Let the powers that be choke on the Smoot signing.

Re: Smoot To Dallas??
slkin4life28:
Seattle indeed has Bobby Taylor on the roster but he didn't start there last year and played dime back - not nickel back - for at least a few of the games. Taylor is finished as a quality CB; his presence will not deter a CB from going to Seattle nor will it prevent the Seahawks from trying to upgrade that position. Regarding the idea of putting Coles on IR or on the practice squad - - neither of which is permissable but pretend that it is for a moment - - that means you would pay him not to play. Can you explain in simple terms how this is different from "dead money"? And by the way, what would you do with Coles next year after you disrespect him this year. Put him on IR again and pay him? I'm glad the person who thinks that is a good idea is not in charge of cap management for the Redskins...
