Russell Okung visits the Redskins
Despite all the McNabb talk, there is still plenty of work to be done:
Redskins Insider - By the way, Russell Okung visited on Monday

Re: Russell Okung visits the Redskins
I was going to ask about this. I wonder if it's a good thing or a bad thing that he saw how crazy this town gets about football. LOL.

Re: Russell Okung visits the Redskins
Draft Okung or Williams, sign Levi, sign the Hotel (I know I said it would be a bad move the other day but I think he could play RT. I know he could play it better than Heyer.)
BPA with the rest of the picks and look for steals in FA. Then let the Mastermind do his thing. Offseason solved! lol |

You got to think the Skins are going to look to take this guy now that they have a solid qb in their stable.

Re: Russell Okung visits the Redskins
I just don't see them getting Okung on the 4th with so many other needs elsewhere and few picks. There is going to be lots more activity and trades.

Logic would make us all think that, but I fear that something else "crazy" is going to happen. Let's hope logic wins out.

Re: Russell Okung visits the Redskins
This is going to be a Crazy CRAZY draft. If Clausen slips to us at #4...I totally see the Bills or another QB hungry team trading up and giving us more of those sweet sweet draft picks in the top two rounds. Iupait and Bruce Campbell look most excellent in the B's and G's...or perhaps another pick for just BC and perhaps a certain young fella named CJ Spilla Thrilla? One could dream...you know we passed on AP for that Turd LL.

Re: Russell Okung visits the Redskins
I think that we could definitely get okung. But keep in mind that the skins really like Eric Berry and supposedly trent williams so a trade down is also very likely.

Re: Russell Okung visits the Redskins
I think we could get back a mid round if the chips fall right. Definitely lessens the loss of picks from the trade (which I don't even think is that bad in the first place).

Re: Russell Okung visits the Redskins
In my opinion, if Okung is available at 4, then take him. He should be a pro-bowl type player for a decade. If Okung is gone, to Detroit, then I would hope they look to trade down, and accumulate more picks. I do not believe there is a significant difference between the 2nd-6th Tackle. Brown and Saffold project very well as Left Tackles, and should be available in the late 20's. Our 4th round almost certainly has to go O-line now and Kyle Calloway, Marshall Newhouse, and Ed Wang should all be available.

Re: Russell Okung visits the Redskins
At this point, what other need is more pressing to this team than a LT? As SS said, with McNabb in the fold our QB situation stabilized, and no other need was as glaring as the Oline. If we don't take Okung(or Williams) I will be ready to join GTripp in calling someone an idiot!

Re: Russell Okung visits the Redskins
Well, the thing that sucks about the McNabb deal getting done so early is that we lose all leverage that we had for trading Campbell and also for trading our #4 pick. Teams know now that we won't go for a QB with that pick, so they will stay put or trade with teams after us. Other than that, I love McNabb in the B&G.
