Re: Campbell will now stay away from Redskins Park
I think he knew from the lack of talk from this FO for the past 3 months that his job was in MAJOR jeopardy, and he was going to more than likely be traded or moved somehow.
Just the fact that the H.C. met with him personally and asked him about his possible thoughts or wishes says a hell of alot more than most front offices in this league. JC is actually lucky in my honest opinion. He is getting traded with the shot of starting and becoming that ever elusive franchise QB that he thinks he is, and some team will take a shot with him, and prolly feel real good about doing it too. Not to mention, I am sure he will end up seeing an increase in his salary.............nuthin but upside for all parties involved if u ask me. |

I would be amazed if anyone signs JC to a long term deal going into a potential lockout. If he gets a starting job, he will be thrilled. |

Re: Campbell will now stay away from Redskins Park
When Shanahan tells JC to have his agent go find a team, is that an off-hand way of saying "Look JC, we tried to move you and came up with nothing so see what you can do and let us know."?

To quote the waterboy "slap hands!" "slap hands!" but yeah we got off on the wrong foot. Clean slate as far as the eye can see.

Re: Campbell will now stay away from Redskins Park
I'm just saying, it's one thing to tell someone that they are not guaranteed a starting spot, It's typical to say "its gonna be a competition", and they DID let him know beforehand that Grossman was probably gonna be one of the people he's competing against. But isn't that all the more reason why it's messed up that they didn't treat the McNabb situation the same? Jason has never been one to start drama, so i have no reason to believe the interview where he DIDN"T know was Jason playing in front of the spotlight. If it was a more outspoken player, maybe i could believe it was a play for sympathy or a reach for publicity, but this is Jason Campbell, not T.O.
I know it's a business, but that's not the way you handle business. There's a right way and a wrong way to move on. |

Re: Campbell will now stay away from Redskins Park
McNabb to be traded... Oakland offers a high pick--i believe their first--, along with other teams including Washington willing to give up either their first or second plus other late picks to get him.
JC to be traded.. 2nd yr in a row this comes out and still no offers even close to what McNabb and Cutler were drawing. I know ppl love JC but its time to admit that he isnt a top 15 QB and there are reasons he hasnt been traded to a team desperately needing a QB. He is seeking his own trade which to me says the Skins will get a late pick -4th or later-if anything for him depending on how the draft goes for teams like Buffalo,Oakland etc.

Re: Campbell will now stay away from Redskins Park
Stan Humphries, Rich Gannon, Trent Green, Brad Johnson... All these guys where given up on too early. It all started when Rypien took us all the way. With Stan Humphries as the back-up, i was hoping the reigns would be handed over to him, but Rypien screwed up, got fat in canada, and came back as a shadow of his former self, while Stan turned an 0-4 team into the first to go from 0-4 to 11-5 and into the playoffs. Rich Gannon wasn't given a fair chance. I STILL have no clue why we let go of Trent Green. he was part of one of the best offenses of the last decade as a chief. Brad Johnson went straight from the redskins to the superbowl, and for who... Toney Banks? Coach Killer Jeff George!?! Poor Ramsey was cursed with a HORRIBLE coach and no-oline. The poor kid never had a chance. Then there was teh chump who I will not name that we traded for Santana. The guy was just like T.O., made tons of catches, but only on 1st and 2nd down. He was the opposite of Art Monk, whenever we needed the first, he dropped passes by Ramsey, Brunnel, and Hasselbeck. He's better now and i almost wouldn't mind him back on the team... but I trust him as much as T.O. ... which isn't much.
I not only wish Jason the best elsewhere, with our track record, i expect it. |

Brad Johnson went to a good offensive coach who was new to a team with a DOMINATING DEFENSE.. Didnt the Tampa D outscore the Oakland O in that one? if not they were close. And i agree,Ramsey had no chance.

To say that any QB could've played on that team is to say that it's better to have a great team and good quarterback than a great quarterback and a good team... i agree. I just think that we should've KEPT our good QB and used our 1st and 2nd on getting the o-line that ANY QUARTERBACK can play behind. he has less of a chance than Ramsey |
