We chose a player that was needed for that position. I have no reason to believe Williams will not be a fine player when you consider his versatility. I doubt McNabb will complain.

They bought the hype over a combine workout.
What did Okung do wrong?

One analysts that I listen to, believes that he got away with certain deficiencies because of his athleticism. It seems also that Williams will fit better our scheme. I'm happy to have a top tackle and not betting the farm on a QB.

Not a bad pick, but Okung is much more physically strong and would've been a better pick IMO. But Williams should be solid, maybe a bit more upside than Okung in speed, mobility.

Kiper said that Williams may be the most versatile of any of the 1st round picks:

Through the workout process, both at the combine and individually with teams, he's proved himself to be perhaps the most versatile talent in the draft at any position. You're talking about a guy NFL teams believe could play virtually anywhere on the offensive line. That many believe he can develop into a solid NFL left tackle is cause for his continued rise.

I would have preferred Okung, but I think Williams will do just fine. Either way, I think our o-line just got better.

We had our choice of all the OL players, I think Okung was a better pick, I gave the pick a C.
