Re: The Official 2010 NFL Draft Thread: Round 1
Surprised Clausen slipped this far. Can't believe I thought we could take him at #4. Still think Minnesota has a chance for him a 2nd time..

Re: The Official 2010 NFL Draft Thread: Round 1
Thank you. At least someone appreciated it. These threads move so fast sometimes. I'll post it again later.

Re: The Official 2010 NFL Draft Thread: Round 1
When the draft started could anybody see Clausen slipping all the way to the second round? I didn't see that happening at all. I figured if he fell at least one team would be desperate enough to trade into the back end of the first round and grab him.

So Mel, how well did that "Clausen in the top 10/15" worked out? LOL.

Re: The Official 2010 NFL Draft Thread: Round 1
At least we got a stater at LT....and didn't do anything stupid...thats a plus for the skins...remember 2 WR and a TE in the 2nd? a TE? and no OLINE help until too late?
Anyways...good news although it may be dead now that it was pre-draft chatter by a couple hours.... Redskins Insider - Redskins reportedly reach out to Saints regarding Jammal Brown Skins talking to Jammal Brown. It would be cool because if we got him, both our tackles would be from the same school

The problem was the lack of offensive playmakers the previous year. Everyone on this board was complaining about the non-existence of a vertical game all year long, so we went out and got weapons. Ironically, the most grief during the 08 draft was actually towards Davis (since we had Cooley). At the time, I felt we got a steal in Fred (who was the best TE in college football). |

We needed oline help then...no doubt among other needs...I like Fred Davis now...but...had we addressed the line then, we may not have needed to draft an Olineman early on...we could have drafted the top Free Safety as an example. I am not talking hindsight 20/20....I am talking about a questionable pick when we had Cooley...the guy rides the pine most of the time...an high 2nd round olineman would have been playing at least 70% of snaps by now Remember the BS cover crap?....oh yeah...were gunna run massive 2 TE sets....never happened...they were just covering up for Vinnie being married to the board and ignoring team deficiencies.

Only he would mess up a great move like trading down for two second round picks including one at the top of the second. Ironically though Thomas and or Kelly could end up being great picks now that we have McNabb but I still say it's overkill. I still think though that Marko Mitchell will turn out to be something special, especially given Shanahan's competition theme which hopefully won't discriminate against rookies like our previous "offensive guru."

Ok, he grabbed a couple TD's in preseason against 3rd and 4th stringers because he's tall. Thats called Basketball. Don't get me wrong, I was shouting for playing time for him to since he was outperforming the other young guys...but that is certainly not saying much. This team needs a legitamate #1 or #2 receiver for McNabb. We can't wait for the young guys to develop while we cross our fingers....however, we absoutely CANNOT deal with TO...he is an absolute JERK PSYCHO.
