I agree with Phil that the criticism of Daniels is wrong, but telling him to line up against him to prove a point is absurd. By that logic GM's and scouts should be the strongest players in the league. I mean what should we say when a player struggles? 'Oh, he didn't play well today but I can't block him so I should just shut up.' I mean if that was true, ESPN would be oh so boring.

Also, hypothetically speaking. If we traded for VJax could we appeal the other 3 game ban that's been imposed on him for not signing on time?

I believe the 5th round pick is pretty much agreed upon. Titans don't want to give more than a conditional 3rd, Redskins want a guaranteed 2nd. Titans have the upper hand though. I really can't tell what direction this will go

If this goes through...would we have the ammo to get VJax without additional cost?

What upper hand? We don't have to do squat.

IMO, a 3rd and a 5th for AH is a fail. It will drop the quality of our defense instantly if he walks out of here today.

Got this from ES boards and agree with him...

but the fact of the matter is that that didnt happen.

now Britt is benched for not being in shape. 2 headcases with huge talent who need new surrounding.

Titans likely wouldnt do Al for Britt straight up, but Britt looked like a very good WR in the making last year (certainly showed more than any young skins WR so far).

woudlnt be opposed to this. i would love nothing more than for Haynesworth to stay and play the way he is capable of. **** - i would love for him to stay and play to 80% of his ability.

but that just doesnt look like it is going to ever happen, no matter whose fault it may or may not be.

Re: Redskins and Titans talking trade again on Albert Haynesworth

If the Titans are only willing to deal in draft picks and no players like britt or anyone worth a damn...

I would take no less, than a 2nd rounder...That's just a fact that I believe the redskins think as well...
Titans don't want to do this though...They want him...just not THAT bad...

I personally think the best value in any trade for fat al,is a trade for another player...

Specially with the way we are cutting draft picks as of late...

But if I'm bruce..I'm going after britt hard...no suspension, much younger with great upside...not 6'5",,but 6'3" ain't shabby...and will cost much less than what V-jack wants imo...

Not to mention who knows what the chargers are wanting for V-jack...he's way too risky imo..although very good.

Lets get Kenny Britt Shanny and Allen!!!

A 2/3 and a 5th is fine by me. Surprised we could get that much for him. It's close to a dump but not quite. Plus, it's not like we lost any draft choices trading him. It would be as if we bought the Titans draft picks for 32 million. An expensive way to do things, but cest le' vie.

Smoot, are you hearing that this deal will have any connection with a VJ trade?

Re: Redskins and Titans talking trade again on Albert Haynesworth

Two of the top three draft picks in this draft were unproven power DT's just like Haynesworth.
These types of players are a commodity and we should give not ours away for a 5th and a 3rd or a 2nd.
I would rather wait and keep him this year and trade him when a team calls desperate to make a playoff push or next off season.
Getting rid of him to make some kind of 'Shanahan is a he-man pound on my chest statement' is stupid and does not make good football and business sense.
The whole distraction thing is over blown.
He is in shape and ready to play. Lets use him.....hell we paid for him, lets get some return. Put our pride a side for a minute.

The assumption that you are making (and I believe it is an incorrect one), is that Albert will suddenly turn it on when the games count. The reality is that AH is pissed about the system, doesn't like his new coach, feels insulted, and has no motivation to play since he's already been paid. It really doesn't matter to him and he has made that clear. He has made it perfectly clear that he is going to be a PITA until he is dealt, so why would he play hard?

To assume that he will suddenly become a beast once the scores are counted is a pretty huge assumption given what we know about this guy at this point. After the Cards game, I think Shanahan feels that he can't count on AH to play and if you can't count on the guy to actually play when it matters, why the world would you put up with the other crap he brings?

Well then.......it does appear the likelihood of making BIG happy may be beyond the comprehension of humankind............
