Re: Redskins vs. Packers - POSITIVES!!
I was at the game, sitting in Section 119 with a slew of Packers fans (damn the season ticket holders who sell to the opponents' fans). And the big positive was those fans leaving after the Landry INT with their tails between their legs.
Right before Crosby lined up his field goal try from the left hash towards the end of the 3rd quarter, I whispered to my buddy that Crosby's gonna push it wide right. He said why do you say that? I said, his previous 2 hits were from the right hash, and the wind was blowing from left to right. He looked at me and shook his head when he missed. The Packers fans sitting in front of us did the same thing. Orakpo came up big, as did Landry. The defense as a unit in the 4th and OT was incredible. Trent Williams coming back in during OT with a hurt knee (I thought he blew it out the way he laid on the turf), knowing damn well that him at 50% is better than Heyer at 400%. The Mighty Midget Brandon Banks is awesome to watch in person. Santana made his presence felt, and McNabb's improvisation is a warm welcome over Campbell's indecisiveness.

Our O-line ability to switch on the fly has been amazing in my view. Now they still have serious issues (Rabach is pathetic).

Re: Redskins vs. Packers - POSITIVES!!
I hope the FO gives Landry a contract extension before the final year of his contract.
Question for the salary cap experts: With this being an uncapped year, would giving Landry an extension now, and counting the bonus as a roster bonus be a valid way to front load the contract while minimizing cap impact in future years? I believe that a signing bonus gets prorated over the length of the contract while a roster bonus applies to just that season. Is this correct? |

I say Gano, and I'm kinda surprised he's not on the list.

Re: Redskins vs. Packers - POSITIVES!!
We now have a real coach and a real quarterback who make a real difference. I thought for sure we were going to lose that game yesterday. But this team is different - it doesn't get intimidated and it doesn't give up.
For the sake of my health, I'd like them to win at least one game this year where I don't feel like I'm having a heart attack. |

Re: Redskins vs. Packers - POSITIVES!!
This is a different Redskin team from the past two years. They have a little swagger and no let up. I'm seeing improvement in every phase of the game. I gave the game ball to Landry because his play set up the game winning field goal. I like to send out a special condolence to Haynesworth and his family for the loss of his brother.

Carlos Rogers gets my gameball. He played an absolute masterpiece of a game. Best of an already pretty good season.

Re: Redskins vs. Packers - POSITIVES!!
The talk of the town radio.... is this a good team or not?
Great team no, but a good team yes. I said prior to the season we were a better team then 4-12 and two more wins proves that in my opinion. I felt this team would go 9-7 and possibly 10-6. Do I think they will go far in the playoffs? most likely not but if they did it would only supprise me a little because this team is a team that battles. Teams that battle are already tested teams and find ways to win those games. The Rams game threw off my 9-7 record and the team would need to win a game I did not expect them to win and they did. Obviously injuries can change anything but I still feel this team is better then an 8-8 team player wise. Our problems the last 2 yrs was Cerrato, coaching, and scheme. All that has been changed and no I'm not predicting us to make it to the SB or win it (even though I'd like to), but I foresee a winning record and that alone gets me excited for the next 2 yrs. This team is on the right track. It seems like it's slow sometimes but happening. Dallas was predicted to go to the SB and we beat them. Now after seeing them 1-3 I'm not sure thats a great feet other then the fact we have bragging rights now but we did play Houston well whome I thought would be the other SB team. Green Bay I figured to be contending for the SB and we held them to 13 points. I figured we would be run over by their high powered offense. I think the defense is better then stats and record shows. Yes it's a work in progress and hopefully they improve weekly. |

Re: Redskins vs. Packers - POSITIVES!!
Awesome.
The best game I attended was Dec. 24th, 2005. The game against the Giants after we beat the tar out of the Cowboys the week before. Santan Moss had like 160 yards and 2 touches in the endzone I was sitting in. The other was the Bears game after Sean died. I have not been to a whole lot. About 10 since 05. 05 was my biggest year as I got to see 3. It seems to me that in the Dallas game and then this one, it seems as though FedEx has come alive at times and is finally giving us a home field advantage again.

Re: Redskins vs. Packers - POSITIVES!!
Carlos' ascencion back to top-level defensive back has been a bit quiet. Whereas Landry's ascension has been right in the forefront of those studying our defense (all offensive NFL coaches) which is why he's going to the pro bowl this year.
Landry = Troy Polamalu without any ability to cover in the deep field. Which bites, because he plays safety.

Re: Redskins vs. Packers - POSITIVES!!
Speaking of Carlos he had another potential INT bounce off him. That one yesterday hit him square in the chest.
It's comical at this point. |
