Re: Galloway waived Austin promoted to roster
Ok someone might have to help me here(if I have something wrong), Chad Simpson(RB) injured his foot before last weeks game and needs surgery, Clinton Portis(RB) reinjured his vagina and has been put on IR. So the team knows it needs 2 RB's so they signed James Davis(RB) from the PS and signed a FA Andre Brown(RB) to the active roster.
The team then went out and signed an OL Jacob Bender to the PS. Which I assume he takes James Davis's spot on the PS. They then signed DB Victor (Macho) Harris to the active roster. The team then goes out and signs RB Kestahn Moore to the PS. Now they sign T.Austin to the active roster from the PS which would mean there is a PS spot available. So I went to the team site and looked at it's supposedly updated roster and Austin is on the active roster, but so is Portis. As the PS looks right now on the team site: 1. Selvish Capers OT 2. Eric Cook C/G 3. Rob Jackson DE 4. Taurus Johnson WR 5. Sha'reff Rashad S Now add: 6. Jacob Bender OL 7. Kestahn Moore RB 8. ? Wonder who they will pick up? or what position. |

Re: Galloway waived Austin promoted to roster
I like this move because we all know Galloway will not return next season. I did like Austin in preseason and he is a California kid same area that Desean Jackson is from. He is built simiular to D.Jack. I would like to see Austin and Banks get some wide out screens and wr reverses. This will add to our team speed on offense. GL Austin make your chance count. Bro.

Re: Galloway waived Austin promoted to roster
Got this info from Extreme...
Joey had 12 catches in 10 games Mcnabb has 12 INT's and 5 were to Galloway. That's 41.6% I think T.Austin will be a big surprise, if he can get some action. He was our preseason stud at WR. We are so much younger now, with this move alone. I really like having Moss Armstrong Banks Austin good speed and play making ability here. Now,if we can find Roydell's replacement? I like this going forward...

Hate to play devil's advocate, but what happens if everyone thinks Austin is a lot better than he really is? I hope he's great, but I feel like its pretty easy to get excited over a young guy like Austin..

Re: Galloway waived Austin promoted to roster
It would be pretty difficult to contribute less than Galloway. Plus, JG isn't in the long term plans, might as well get some game experience for Austin and see if he is for real for the next 6 games. No question this is a good move, whether it pans out or not.

Re: Galloway waived Austin promoted to roster
We saw he could play during the exhibition games, granted it was exhibition games. My feeling tells he will be an exciting player like Banks.

Re: Galloway waived Austin promoted to roster
We already know what we had in Galloway, and it wasn't much. Time to move on and give the young guy a shot. If he works out great, if not at least you have a better idea of what he's all about heading into the offseason.

Wow. Finally.
I felt like Joey gave up on running routes several times. It will be good just to see what other people can do. |

He wasn't giving up, he just can't run for that long

Re: Galloway waived Austin promoted to roster
I always liked Galloway and thought he was a real professional, but he had nothing left when he signed here. I'm sure another team will try him out due to his experience, but that's probably it.
