Oh bye the way, how is that Cutler trade working out for the Bears?

Well the Bears are 10-4, have the second seed in the NFC, and Jay Cutler has improved tremendously over last year's 27 td, 26 pick performance. I think he's got like 19 touchdowns and 12 picks right now. He's been tremendously better. So I'd say it's working out for them pretty good right about now. Both sides did pretty decent, Denver got a multitude of draft picks and Kyle Orton was tearing it up in Denver earlier this season, they're just losing a lot of games because they have no run game and no defense.

Clausen trade scenario is awful.
I would take Palmer if he were a free agent. I think he's a cut above all these other opening day starter options were looking at. Still want to draft a QB though.

That's not saying much.

I would like to draft him. Not sure I would love it, but I would probably drink the Kool Aid on draft day. Locker is my current man crush though and I think the same goes for Shanny. One things for sure though. At this point the only QB's I want to focus on are Locker and Mallet. Luck would be my first choice but I have a better chance of marrying a billionare supermodel than we have of being in position to acquire Luck.

Newton is a spread QB with huge character concerns. Blaine Gabbert has gotten on the scene recently but he also comes from a spread system. Christian Ponder is this years "compromise pick" where people say "sure draft a QB but lets trade down and draft a guy in the 3rd round and groom him, because that always works out." Stupid Charlie Frye fans.

Not too big on Ponder either, he's decent but not a starting QB in the nfl imo

I watched him play in person this season when FSU played OU and he looked horrible, I think he had like 3 Ints or something like that.. Yes I know its just 1 game but thats a game that will stick with me if we draft him

Well to be fair he's not that bad but he's not the top of guy that you pin the hopes of a franchise on. I mean Schuab was drafted in the 4th round when the Falcons had Vick. Brady was acquired while Bledsoe was still in his prime. Cassel was drafted when the Pats had Brady and wasn't even expected to make the team. Romo was an accident that they discovered while they had Bledsoe (maybe we should sign Bledsoe).

Even the elder Shanahan's best 3rd round QB in Brian Griese was essentially a one year wonder while in Denver.

My main point is lets acquire an option thats more likely to succed before we try and "groom" a second day pick to be a franchise Quarterback. Otherwise chances are we'll end up with a QB that will encourage more groans from the fanbase than Ramsey and Campbell combined.

I wouldn't count out a player soley due to character concerns. For every Ryan Leaf, Lawrence Phillps and Maurice Clarett, you have a Warren Sapp, Randy Moss, or Dez Bryant as other examples on how some of these "character challenged" players can flurish in the NFL. I wouldn't mind taking the gamble on Cam.

I WANT KELLEN MOORE. he is the real deal and could be around in the 3rd-4th round. he stays in the film room, knows the game in and out, makes great coverage reads, and is extremely accurate. lastly, he's a winner.

I've always liked Moore BUT he doesn't play against the best talent every week, that's a big deal.. I still think he's better than guys like Ponder and Nick Foles.

Kellen Moore is now officially the ultimate man crush. The Cult of Colt in it's prime could only dream of the following this 6'0 man from Idaho has developed. More power to him if he succeeds but history suggest that he's probably nothing more then a really good college QB who might be a decent backup at the NFL level. Certainly not the type of guy you bring in for Plan A.

you're right he doesn't play against the best talent week in and week out but its not like hes playing aginst bums. these guys were good enough to play D1 ball too...

anyone can drop into a cover 3 or any other defensive play which requires no talent at all. i dont think you can use the "talent" thing as a huge knock on moore because his strongest points (preperation and reading) are not effected by talent which would be moore's arm vs. the defenders coverage & athleticism. (not to say his arm is a weak point... he is deadly accurate too and can get it downfield)

i'd be inclined to start a vet like rexy and pick up moore as a project next year... hes a damn good project to have. he's facing Utah in his bowl game and their top pro prospect is a corner so we'll see how he does tonight.

Moore looks like a good fit for the Skins offense. He doesn't seem to have a cannon arm, but I think that's often overated. He's not that tall is he? He would be a good late round pick.
