Re: Redskins Made Smart Choice With Kerrigan
Like everyone else i loved the trade back. I love getting a guy thats gonna work really hard. And i really love the fact that he was susposedly high on the NE list (i just really like their style).
The only thing that upsets me is that if we didnt switch to the 3-4, we wouldnt of had this need and we could of spent a first round pick on the offense. But i only say that because it takes me a really long time to get over stuff.... Im sure ill be happy with a Pittsburg 3-4 type d in a few years.

Re: Redskins Made Smart Choice With Kerrigan
I'm just glad Jacksonville had David Garrard as their QB. They wouldn't have traded up if they didn't desire an improvement at quarterback. hahahahaha. So don't forget to thank Garrard for sucking in Jacksonville.

Re: Redskins Made Smart Choice With Kerrigan
Not sure if anyone mentioned this earlier but in the ESPN Draft Show with well respected Bill Parcells, he was asked who are some of your favorite players in this draft. He immediately said, 'The safest draft pick in this entire draft is Ryan Kerrigan. He is the least likely to be a bust.'
When you have guys like Von Miller and Patrick Petersen in this draft, for Parcells to single Kerrigan out really caught my attention. I had not even considered Kerrigan before this moment. Sounds like Kerrigan has a lot going for him! Most importantly, great move to pick Kerrigan AND move down and get another 2nd rounder. WE FINALLY HAVE A FRONT OFFICE THAT IS NOT A MASSIVE FAILURE! Great move Shanahan and Allen! |

Re: Redskins Made Smart Choice With Kerrigan
Yeah I can see how Kerrigan would be a Parcells type. The more I read about this kid the more I love. Great first round for the Skins with that pick and the trade down.

Re: Redskins Made Smart Choice With Kerrigan
I gave a B but could have easily given an A. I like the fact the team moved back in the draft to aquire more picks. I like the fact that he said he was invited April 13th and 14th and left hoping the Skins would pick him. Obviously if the player is happy we'll get better production.
I like the pick, we know we needed a pass rusher to compliment Orakpo and we needed more picks. I'm slightly disappointed we don't have Dalton and probably won't get him considering the Patriots are interested in him also and have the first pick today, but I also like Mallet at 6-6 and I like Kaepernick at 6-4. I like what were doing vs. Simply taking BPA because we would have endedup with either the #1 DE which is still on the board and might not have been a good fit or the #1 LB still on the board. Now we need a NT and a QB and OL. |

Re: Redskins Made Smart Choice With Kerrigan
Give it an A. I fully expected them to trade the draft pick away for some overpaid POS like they have done countless times in the past 10 plus years.
Seems like the "Mom and Dad " are home message may take shape. Pass rush is good to have. O-Line needs help next. QB can wait. Sexy Rexy will light 'em up this year! Can't wait to see who they get next. |

Re: Redskins Made Smart Choice With Kerrigan
Kerrigan's best skill was the Redskins largest deficiency, getting after the passer. It was a bigger deficiency than our passing offense.

Re: Redskins Made Smart Choice With Kerrigan
Who to block!?!?
London coming up the middle...these two coming from both ends...Landry on a safety blitz...it's a shame Haynesworth didn't come to play, our D could be unstoppable. Sack on every play.

Re: Redskins Made Smart Choice With Kerrigan
and that the team didn't plan on getting a true NT when they decided to switch to the 3-4 (even if he had a good attitude, I think Haynesworth is not an option). If we had a young player like Terrence Cody or an experience/healthy NT it would make a big difference.

Re: Redskins Made Smart Choice With Kerrigan
I'll agree I think we drastically need zone blocking OL help but lately I've sat back thinking we probably should take QB next if the team still sees someone on the board they liked or perhaps NT. Taking NT would hopefully fix our defensive woes, if the QB's they were interested in are gone then look to resolve the OL and maybe pick up a late round WR, CB, and RB.

Re: Redskins Made Smart Choice With Kerrigan
It seems like they favor Wisenski over Hudson if they decide to go that way.
