Obama getting re-elected is looking good. The country's financial outlook is looking good, Obama's election coffers are filled, and his numbers are looking better and better.


Hell, just last week I had my first bet buy-back offer on the re-election of Obama. The greedy person within is leaning towards rejecting any buy-back offers but the sensible person says increase the buy-back to 75% of the original bet.

The Catholic Church cuts across the entire political-socio-economic spectrum moreso than any other religious institution in the U.S. Obama carried the Catholic vote in 2008, he won't in 2012 because of the HHS mandate. There are 65M Catholics in the U.S., if this issue causes just 10% to swing....Obama is finished and it won't be close. Watch for the Stand Up for Religious Freedom rallies on June 8, I expect the turn-out will be strong. I'm sure other Catholics here can attest that they've never seen the Church mobilize so forcefully against a political issue before.

As for not wanting to buy back your bet, well, we all miss on opportunities now and then and learn from our mistakes. Rest assured the money will be put to good use.

It is bleeding parishioner on a daily bases and the 65 million figure doesn't really give you an indication who is catholic by name and whether they agree with the Obama care and the birth control provision. I believe the entire church's stance is to support Obamacare except for birth control.

One more thing, what is the statistics on the birth control provision when it comes to catholic men vs women? How does your wife feel about it?

I can promise you the Catholic Church has not self-destructed and bleeds no one....Unlike the HHS mandate which forces religious institutions to directly violate their core moral beliefs or be "bled" to death by obscene fines. Whether individual Catholics support birth control isn't the issue, the issue is the HHS mandate directly attacks a religious institution and forces it to pay for procedures (including sterilization and abortion drugs) that are contrary to its beliefs. All U.S. bishops have come out publicly against this mandate, so the Church is solidly unified against it. My wife is 100% in support of the Church against this.

I'll make sure your wager funds go to support Catholic Relief Services.

Speaking at his Pennsylvania campaign headquarters this morning, Mitt Romney attacked President Obama as out of touch for spending too much time at Harvard, where the president went to law school. “We have a president, who I think is is a nice guy, but he spent too much time at Harvard, perhaps,” Romney said.

Unfortunately for Romney, his attack is undermined by the fact that the GOP presidential hopeful has twice as many degrees from Harvard as Obama. Romney earned a combined JD/MBA from the elite Cambridge, Massachusetts university. That means Romney spent an extra year at Harvard, getting the combined degree in four years, compared to Obama’s three for the JD alone. Indeed, Romney thrived at Harvard by all accounts.

Romney has previously attacked Obama for taking advice from the “Harvard faculty lounge,” even though one of Romney’s top economic advisers is Harvard professor Greg Mankiw.

Romney has also taken at least $32,000 in contributions from Harvard faculty and administrators.

It looks from this comment the two have never even met each other so I don't see the big deal.

Just because you don't fully know a person doesn't mean you haven't met them. I'm quite sure they've met via family associations. There are many of my cousins I've spent time with that I'm not familiar with their characteristics. They may seem nice around the family reunions, but doesn't mean they aren't total jackasses away from it.
