The Redskins are executing the game plan perfectly to me this week. I love it, everytime i look online we are getting another piece to the puzzle. Don't want to curse us but I think the Skins are gonna be damn good by next season. HAIL!!!

Fits the pattern of mid-twenties vets who we should have in their prime.

Chester is also versatile in being able to play several positions.

Not a blockbuster but I like.

The Redskins defensive ends saw their fair share of one on one matchups, and failed to capitalize on any of them. I'm not sure where Gaither and Anderson rate on the scale of tackle tandems in the NFL, but I'd assume pretty high. Demetric Evans never once sniffed the quarterback against these guys, as he lined up against both Anderson and Chris Chester throughout the game. That was maybe the most surprising part. Jason Taylor was pretty useless in this one, although he was the only player who looked like he could sometimes be a handful for the blockers. He just rushes himself out of too many plays.

Rob Jackson actually got the double teams when he and Taylor were the ends. Think about that for a second. Baltimore was comfortable putting Grubbs and Brown on Montgomery, Chester on Evans, then blocking Jackson with Anderson AND a back, while Gaither had Jason Taylor one on one on Flacco's blind side. Taylor, at times, could get around Anderson, but Gaither is too good for Jason Taylor. Have at it, "we need youth on the lines!" crowd. Andre Carter was a non-factor on pass rushing downs, mostly because he wasn't in the game.

I guess I didn't write anything about him.

I was confident in Allen and Shanahan before, but now that we've actually cut Rabach and upgraded with a good Center...wow. It's so strange feeling like our team is in good hands....been what, 12 years at least?

Ah, tricky me. I suppose I would write about the Ravens offensive line in a Redskins offensive review.

Right Guard: Chris Chester, a second round pick of the Ravens in 2006, now a third year player. Chester was garnering some first round talk in the days leading up to the draft, and was a Center at Oklahoma, but has found his niche as a Guard for the Ravens. Chester isn't and will never be Ben Grubbs, but he's versatile, gives the Ravens two guards who can pull so that they can run plays either way, and is, like the rest of the line, strong in pass protection.

He can move to Center if the Ravens don't want to re-sign Jason Brown.

Redskins Prospectus: The Redskins, hopefully can use the late rounds of the draft in 2009 to find a Chris Chester type. Chester is good, but he's not Grubbs-good, and the dropoff from the Chester's of the draft, a 2nd round pick, to the say Jamey Richard (Colts) of the draft, a 7th round pick, is very, very small. When you take an interior OL player in the first two rounds, you want to get Grubbs, you don't want to get a Chester, or a Jake Grove (Raiders) who doesn't make pro bowls, those guys are a dime a dozen in the draft.

You also risk taking a player on the OL who isn't any good at all in the last few rounds, but I trust the college scouting department to get it right, and get us a guy who can start by his 2nd year in the league, like Chester.

So, I suppose this is my opinion on the signing.

He seems like he'll be able to play both center and guard, depending on how the coaches feel about starting Montgomery at center.

Any combo of Lichensteiger, Montgomery, Chester at G/C/G is 10 times better than any combo we had last year involving Rabach.

The thing I like about the signings is most of the guys are 27/28ish so we are going to be getting their prime time years out of them.
