Re: London Riots
Yeah the cops shot an armed "gangsta" type, that set it off, but the economic situation over there is much like ours, but being a much smaller natioin, the immigration problem is much more compounded as they can't find jobs. Neither can many youths of the native population. You have an increased number of people from different ethnic backgrounds all trying to get their piece of an ever shrinking economic pie, and eventually the anger is going to boil over, then you get some over zealous cop that whacks one of these guys and it just all goes BOOM!!!!!!!! With the economic crisis, blue collar Brits have almost turned into callous barbarians, as the use of violence to get what one wants has gained wide acceptance with the youth. The sad thing is once our house of cards falls over here, we will look much worse. No gun control here, etc, and the youth are getting more desensitized to violence, and are more accepting of using it to get what they want, ie those flash mob robberies.

Re: London Riots
All these flash mobs in the US have me concerned but I don’t think we have to worry about whats happening in London happening here anytime soon. I remember when I was in HS they made a ban on more than 2 or 3 young people walking together at Springfield Mall because there were too many fights. Back then I used to think it was hatefully discrimination, now I realize it was just a great idea. Honestly im at the point where I don’t want to go anywhere where I know a bunch of adolescent males are going to be hanging out and if I have to im arming myself. I think its fortunate the US laws on gun control are more liberal than in the UK; people there are unable to defend themselves from being attacked, robbed, raped, or killed when outnumbered.
When we had the Rodney King riots Asian businesses were targeted by the rioters, the police couldn’t really do anything to help them. If not for the Asian community in LA heavily arming themselves many of them may have been killed, beaten or raped and their businesses would have been destroyed, simply because they were Asian. Only the criminals and socially elite in the UK have guns. At the start of the London riots the Muslim population (particularly Pakistani) was targeted because they owned many of the businesses in poorer parts of London. Unfortunately the Muslim’s in the UK don’t have guns to protect themselves.

![]() Swanson told Press TV’s U.S. Desk on Monday that “we are going to occupy Freedom Plaza in the middle of Washington D.C., the name of which is very similar of course to Tahrir Square in Cairo, Egypt, and from there we are going to expand to shut down offices, buildings, streets, hallways, to nonviolently, strictly nonviolently resist what our government is doing.” The author of “War is a lie” said “we are taking the same sort of agenda that all left, liberal and progressive groups intend to take to Washington: Tax the rich and the corporations, end the wars, cut the military spending, protect our safety net, our social security, give us Medicare for everybody, end the corporate welfare, give us clean energy and jobs and infrastructure and cleanup the system.” Radicals Plan Egypt-Style Occupation of Freedom Plaza in Washington, DC | David Swanson | Video | TheBlaze.com
