Re: We Want Dallas! 2011 Thread

Sorry, but if Ohio St vs Michigan has lost its luster because of the streakiness of it(U of M dominating the 90's, OSU, the 2000's), then this rivalry is pretty much toast. We seem to care a lot more about the "rivalry" than the Boys fans do. I mean when was the last time the game meant anything special(divisional crown or just playoff berth)? We faded from the scene back in 1992/93, Dallas in 1996/97. It pretty much has been the Philly show since then, with an occasional appearance from NY in terms of divisional crowns, with the exception of us getting it in '99 and '06.

Re: We Want Dallas! 2011 Thread

Without Miles and Dez, the Cowboys will have scrub wideouts. I can't see how the Cowboys would risk long term injury of their golden boy for one game, even if it is the Skins on MNF. Kitna is a good backup, but won't get them in the playoffs if they risk losing Tony for multiple games or most of the season. This type of stuff is also a reason the rivalry is losing its luster. Even if we do win, it will be seen as tainted, or not a real victory, as if a team pulled its starters from a game late in the season to get ready for the playoffs.

I am with you Okie, just talking about the state of the rivalry. It seems like Redskins Park is doing their part in producing a winner and trying to get it back on track, but I am not sure Danny's friend Jerry is cooperating. They still suck.

2005. I thought we won it the year Brunell led us to the playoffs, but lost to Seattle.

Thanks Okie. I thought we had won it in 2005. I know for a fact about 1999. I jumped for joy as we clinched it with a win over the 49ers on SNF.

Tampa has ALWAYS been a hellhouse of horrors for us. It's the Redskins' Kryptonite. From Super Bowl XVIII to last year when Gano blew the extra point, we ALWAYS, ALWAYS, ALWAYS seem to find a way to lose there.
