Yeah my comments were in refference to the NY Times artical orginally posted by Ruhskins, which is along the same lines of what GMScud just posted.

Re: Sex Abuse Scandal Rocks Penn State
This is going to go down as the biggest sex scandal in American history.
I can only imagine if something like this is occurring somewhere in America right now.

I mean I gotta think at least some of that is true. That's not something you just randomly make up

I can't believe all those dumbass students who rioted over this decision. What a massive fail that is.

Re: Sex Abuse Scandal Rocks Penn State
I agree completely. When I read about that I was like, wtf are they rioting for? Do they support child molestation? Penn State never had a reputation for being one of the smartest schools in the country, but how are you gonna riot in support of a guy who stood by and did nothing while this sick perverted rapist was abusing kids in the school facilities. Idiots, all of them.

Re: Sex Abuse Scandal Rocks Penn State
The way PSU fans are acting is completely shocking. What the hell are they thinking? I was a psyc minor and a major focus in a class I took was about our willingness to look the other way, with the rise of the nazis always used as the perfect example. You have all these people in power at PSU, The Second Mile and DA’s office looking the other way and covering things up for something they all know is wrong, most likely because it will tarnish reputations and bring down their organizations. Then you have average joes, like the wrestling coach at the hs, the grad assistant, the janitor and the families of these kids all looking the other way maybe because they were bought off, but also because the attitude of looking the other way is coming from the guidance of the people in power. And now you have PSU kids and fans reaffirming their faith in PSU and supporting Paterno even with knowledge of what he did, or didn’t do in his case. Students, alumni and fans are able to rationalize their support because even though Paterno and PSU allowed some horrible things to happen, overall Paterno and PSU have been beneficial to their lives and community, and they have a vested interest that Paterno and PSU retain a positive image. From the actual assaults, to the cover up, to other rumors and mysteries, and to the behavior of PSU fans everything is just sickening.

President Emmerts statement on Penn State - NCAA.org
Not that this means much, but a statement from the NCAA. Not sure what they could really do since NCAA infractions weren't broken.

Honestly, I don't think the football players on the team deserve to be punished for their coach's transgressions, but punishment in some form needs to be served to those involved.

Re: Sex Abuse Scandal Rocks Penn State
Seems kind of strange that Sandusky would all of a sudden retire and never coach again at the age of 55. If that doesn't smell of cover then I don't know what does.
