The "Inside Word" on the QB Search

Unlike another veteran who still doesn't seem to realize that he's washed up, I doubt Manning tries to play unless he's 110% confident he can play at a high level.

That is what I am afraid.

If we can get PM just as a FA and then draft Tannehill then I am cool with that.

I just think if PM comes here we will just be glued to the injury line every week waiting to see if he is going to play.

If I am PM I am going to Bal, AZ, SF, etc... basically a team that is a QB away from the Super Bowl.

Let me also add B-more would be a great landing spot for him. they could keep Flacco and have him learn from PM and PM could get them to the SB. After PM retires Flacco comes back with some great QB coaching. One of the negatives about Flacco is he doesn't have anyone pushing him, PM could do that.

IT is not up to him. Flacco is not that good. they honestly could get rid of Flacco and say Ed, Ray and Peyton here is your best shot of getting another ring before you guys are done. I say they have 2 years of legit shots at a SB ring.

Flacco isn't the reason they didn't make it to the Super Bowl. You can thank Evans and Cundiff for that. He'll be back next year.

Maybe not this year, but he would be as good as gone next year. It wouldn't be a Ravens type of move anyway to go after Manning.

Who said I love Flacco? I just don't think he's as bad as his haters make him out to be.

If we sign Peyton Manning I wouldn't draft a QB in rounds 1-3.

Those picks would be better spent trying to add pieces to improve the team.

I would target developmental QB starting round 4 and down.

If we sign PM I still would want to draft a QB high. Let the young buck learn behind PM for a spell. Should Manning prove fragile, we'd still have a reasonable cameo starter.

This plan turns QB from a position of weakness to, potentially, a position of strength.

I think the Redskins would feel the same way and this is the exact reason I am lukewarm on the idea of signing Peyton.

I'm in Gut's camp on a lower round QB. We're only going to get a developmental rookie QB for 4-yrs (rookie contacts) and IF Manning signs here healthy, we've got him for 2-3. Spend those higher picks on supporting cast and look to acquire a 2nd tier guy like Claussen or Hoyer as a backup. They could then tinker with a no-risk 6th or 7th round QB.

NFL would eat up this Peyton to DC move. Goodell would be drooling to Brother vs Brother twice a year especially with Eli winning his second superbowl. You know Snyder is telling Bruce and Shanny to make it happen

I don't neccessarily agree with taking a QB in round 4 or beyond but I do agree there needs to be a heavy dose of offense brought in. Thats not to say our defense is done. I'm saying the defense held it's own pretty well I think and we could stand to pick up a FS and depending on how our FA's play out possibly a CB.

If the team does pick up Manning then I'd look to trade back for more picks as SS has stated and get more picks, then I'd take a developemental QB in round 2, and then look for OL. Depending on how many times we could trade back for more picks I might even look for another WR, TE, and possibly FB.

The team needs to atleast pick up 1 really good WR in free agency. Christmas if they got two.
