Re: Colts Officially Release Peyton Manning (QB Thread #11)
Is it just me or does it feel kind of weird to have a big name free agent turn us down? We're not used to being in this position before.

I bet the restaurant industry in the DC area would want Manning here (he's a good tipper)...

Seriously one little rumor floats and you guys get all pissey.
Nobody knows where Manning wants to go, I highly doubt he has said no WASH all ready without even hearing what we have to offer.

Re: Colts Officially Release Peyton Manning (QB Thread #11)
Works for me, I want to see us draft a true franchise QB, not work with some old retread who has health issues again.

Report: Manning doesn’t want to play for the Redskins | ProFootballTalk
Excellent news. Manning doesn't want to play for the Redskins. A short term solution like him wasn't what the Redskins needed @ quarterback anyway. Let's proceed on to trade up to draft RG3 now. |

Re: Colts Officially Release Peyton Manning (QB Thread #11)
If Peyton Manning was ten years younger, paying him that much money wouldn't be a bad idea. But seeing as though he's one helmet to helmet hit away from being in a wheel chair, it would be prudent of the Redskins front office to back off of pursuing Manning and eye in on RG3.

Re: Colts Officially Release Peyton Manning (QB Thread #11)
Please, allow me to state the obvious. There are doctors who don't live as long as some of their patients. Manning is recovering from surgery. Some people take years to recover from one operation. Manning has reportedly had three that we know about. We, as Redskins fans, have to realize that while Peyton Manning is the greatest quarterback since Joe Montana, he's extremely prone to injury. Signing him is a bad idea for any NFL team, not just the Redskins. The risk of signing him outweigh the rewards. Even if Manning plays in 2012, he will not be 100%. He probably won't be close to 100% until 2013.
