Re: 2012 Redskins Schedule Released Today

I can see us get a wildcard if RG III really pans out and we actually do draft decently. I like some of these mocks by foxsports for the later rounds. We might be able to get some nice gems defensively. Overall my faith in the FO has been restored. I freaked over what we gave up to get Robert, but if he is the real deal it is worth it.

At first glance looks tough, but in this division it always is. I like the fact that the tougher half of the schedule is the second half. Gives the team time to gel...

WTF I don't see a Sunday night game!

It's a perfect schedule for our situation though like you guys said. We could be 6-2 even halfway through, on the other hand I'll say if we're worse than .500 at that point it should be a huge disappointment.

Thursday football is a terrible idea turned schedule disaster on a weekly basis. Teams having a 4 day turnaround on the road or 10 day or so break is crap.

First off, thats good, cause I hate waiting for my team to play on sundays.

Second off, it doesn't matter, because whatever sunday night football games are scheduled now can always change starting week 10 (?) with the whole flex scheduling thing.

Re: 2012 Redskins Schedule Released Today

I figure that the difference of this 2012 Redskins team will indeed be the play at quarterback. I don't expect RG3 to come in and light the NFL on fire, but then again he might just do that. I'm predicting that the Redskins will start off the season 6-2. Then they will be 5-3 or 4-4 through the second half of the season. That would leave them with a 11-5 or 10-6 record and a possible divisional title. The defense has the potential to play some good football as we saw from last season. And if the Redskins can utilize their weapons on offense, then there's no reason to think that this can't be truly a complete team. At first I predicted the Redskins would be 13-3. I'm going to give them room for error and predict an 11-5 or 10-6 2012 season.

Re: 2012 Redskins Schedule Released Today

On a slight tangent.... Alex Trebek is a Redskins fan and he predicts the wins for 2012:

Alex Trebek on the Redskins, the Nats and Robert Griffin III - DC Sports Bog - The Washington Post

Quote:
When Alex Trebek told WJLA’s Alex Parker that he is a longtime Redskins fan who can’t quit the team, I initially thought he was pandering to the Washington audience.

But a few moments later, Parker asked Trebek to predict the Redskins’ 2012 win total, and the ‘Jeopardy’ host said 12, which is the same number of wins every Redskins fan predicts for the team every April.

So, yup. He’s a Redskins fan.

Trebek is in town to tape Jeopardy’s ‘Power Players Week’ at DAR Constitution Hall; Parker got him talking about sports loyalty.

“I’m not a fair-weather friend,” Trebek said. “If things turn bad, I am not going to abandon you. I am still a Washington Redskins fan, since the days of Sam Huff and Sonny Jurgensen, and I still cheer for them. And I’m curious as all get-out as to who they’re going to pick with their No. 2 selection in the draft.”

Parker said it would probably be Robert Griffin III.

“I would think Indy is going to go for Luck because he’s more in keeping with the offense they have had over the years with Peyton Manning, whereas Griffin is not,” Trebek agreed. “But Griffin is going to be something special. He IS something special, because he is multi-talented, multi-faceted. He can pass, he can run, he can do a lot of things, and I think Washington is going to be very happy if they get him.”
He's either a Nats fan also or just follows Baseball pretty good.

Quote:
“What is 2012?” he replied, in ‘Jeopardy’ fashion. “I’m going to give them the benefit of the doubt . . . It’s like Jeopardy, it feeds on itself. Success brings more success. You feel confident. You’re no longer the doorstop of the league. You say ’Hey, we’re pretty good, we’re in first place....I think the Nationals will be over .500.”
