Re: UDFA Thread

Are we sure Phillip Thomas signed with us? I've having trouble finding anything about it on the interwebs aside from unconfirmed reports on twitter.

Last night he said he did...but today the Eagles are saying he's staying there. So I'm a bit confused at the moment myself

I got it from a very reliable source via phone...from the horse's mouth so to speak.

But maybe he meant he's going to both. Sometimes players at this time have "tryouts" with multiple teams during their mini-camps, and don't actually sign any contract per se

Here's an example of this

Rookies to get shot at dream during Miami Dolphins minicamp - Miami Dolphins - MiamiHerald.com

Harris, who had an erratic four seasons at UM after coming in as a five-star recruit out of Miami Northwestern High in the vaunted 2007 recruiting class, won’t be there as one of the Dolphins draft picks or gaggle of undrafted free agents. He’ll be there on the same tryout basis that he’ll be in Arizona’s rookie camp later.

So Harris is trying out with the Dolphins and the Cardinals this week, hoping one of them will want to sign him

Re: UDFA Thread

Phillip Thomas is on the Eagles unfortuneatly. Schefter just cleared it up on twitter, someone asked Scefter straight up to clear it up if he was on the Eagles or Redskins, and Schefters answer was the Eagles :/ i really dont understand why they did not draft a safety before they did, an obvious position of need.

Just read that the doctor who performed the surgery on Chase Minnifield was Dr. James Andrews. Thats awesome to hear with the success stories he has had (Drew Brees' shoulder). The consensus is he's just about the best in the business.

He would have been better off using alternative medicine...

RT @FuriousTigers: Could you please clear up the Phillip Thomas situation? Is he an Eagle or a Redskin? ... He's an Eagle.

Re: UDFA Thread

Probably already posted but the team signed Kirk Cousins fellow senior WR from Michigan Nichol. He's 6'2, 220lbs. He started out at Oklahoma as a QB but would be sitting behind Bradford so he switched schools to Michigan and Cousins beat him out. He then switched his position to WR in order to get playing time. He says he hopes he gets to stay with the team since he can play WR, Special Teams, be a third string QB if need be, and he says if nothing else he's willing to try out at Safety. He's prideful about how he and Cousins are very intelligent.

Yep sorry. Yeah I think it's just a tryout. Cousins suggested the team bring him in. Who knows maybe he and Cousins make a connection in the preseason games and the team decides to keep him.
