Bus Monitor Gets Bullied

My first thought is if she is a bus monitor shouldn't she have stopped the kids? What does a bus monitor actual do? Should she get fired for not doing her job? I guess she can just quit because her donation fund is now over $500,000. Who would donate money after this so called vacation fund went over $5,000? When will the 3 kids sue her for their share of the money? So many questions so little time.

Donations for bullied bus monitor soar past $500,000 - U.S. News

Once computers control the traffic this will stop happening.

I just wanted to preserve this quote so that the entire board can see. Gaze upon this wonder, fellow board members.

It's 'Debating with the Enemy', not just political.

I'd guess someone thought there would be dissent.

Re: Bus Monitor Gets Bullied

The fund was started by a fellow Redditor to save send this woman on a vacation, but good ole Reddit came through and probably made it so this woman never has to deal with unruly kids ever again. That place is amazing.

Also, you know the kicker in all this? This is all tax free to her as well. (as it should be) The guy who started it looked into it via a CPA and here is what he told him.

As one CPA wrote me: "As long as no single individual exceeds the yearly gift amount (around $12,000), there are no taxes. And even then, the donor pays the taxes, not Karen."

Kudos to this woman being able to retire from her miserable job.

It was actually in Smoot's thread about the Best/Worst of our future.

Maybe? It's up to you. I honestly can't tell the difference between your jokes and your normal "tone" on the boards. Don't feel too bad though, occasionally someone who hasn't been here that long takes me too seriously when I post inane comments just for the hell of it.

Seriously? I didn't wanna think you were totally heartless but this is kind of close. So I hope you're joking.

Middle school kids are cruel. I dunno if you ever got bullied as a kid, but I did, and that shit sucks. And to think they bullied, not only someone elderly, but someone whose son killed themselves (I think the kids said something like, I bet your family would rather kill themselves than be related to you) is pretty f'ing cold. The kids didn't know that, but it's that statement that set the woman off crying in the first place.

A lot of people don't have the nerve to verbally punch a kid in the mouth and tell them to STFU, and I would expect a 60 something year old woman to be one of them. Don't get me wrong, I know a lot of senior citizens that don't take shit, but your statement makes it sound as if its the woman's fault for not saying anything instead of the kids for being little bastards.

I'm gonna pretend like you didn't say any of this.

Don't expect much sympathy from FD. This is the same guy that thinks we should nuke all the arabs and be done with it.

If she is too old to do the job why is she even on the bus? I was actually joking around but after your post you make a good argument of why she sould not have been a bus monitor. LOL Look I feel just as sorry for this lady as anyone and know its not her fault but someone has to ask the question of why she was even a bus monitor to begin wth.

Maybe you should find out what her job description is, and what it entails before you start yapping about her not doing her job or not being qualified.

HERP DERP.

I did the work for you FD.

From the Jod Description:
maintaining order on the bus, understanding and following written and oral instructions, following basic principles of early childhood development and establishing good relationships with the children,

They may have to deal with loud and unruly children

From your link she was not able to do her job. I don't think its her fault but I was just questioning what she was even doing as a bus monitor. You made my point thanks. I guess I was really asking if they cannot handle the children are they really even needed?
