Antonio Pierce NFLPlayers.com Journal
http://www.nflplayers.com/players_ne...urnal&ID=30602
SUMMER VACATION 07/21/05 I STARTED MY SUMMER OUT TAKING MY FAMILY TO BERMUDA TO VISIT MY FATHER AND HIS EXTENDED FAMILY WHO ARE ALL NATIVES OF BERMUDA. AFTER RETURNING HOME FOR A BIT I THEN TOOK A FAMILY VACATION TO ORLANDO AND VISITED DISNEY WORLD, SEA WORLD, UNIVERSAL STUDIOS AND GATORLAND. ONE OF THE HIGHLIGHTS OF THE TRIP WAS A LIVE INTERVIEW AT ESPN WHICH I HAD THE PLEASURE OF MEETING SOME FANS AND ANSWERING SOME QUESTIONS FROM THE AUDIENCE. THE SUMMER HAS GONE BY FAST, NOW IT IS TIME TO GET BACK TO WORK. GO G-MAN!!!!! btw that wasn't me posting in all caps. But anyways, ugh, when he said go g-man at the end, i got this gut feeling he has liked the giants for a long time. i wish him well though, except against us of course. |

Re: Antonio Pierce NFLPlayers.com Journal
i guess in the NFL you only really get 1 to 2 big paydays, so I don't really dislike him for leaving ...
This is my take though, he was a total system player, and he benefitted from having two incredible coaches, Williams and Gibbs. That might carry over in some small capacity to the Giants, but he is not going to be the same player. Oh, not to mention, he has a little more pressure now playing in New freakin York and with a huge contract .... Am I bitter? yes. |

Re: Antonio Pierce NFLPlayers.com Journal
i knew there was a chance that smoot wasn't gonna get done. But I thought we would sign pierce. I have been bitter for a while but i wish him well. But plain and simple both of the players left a team that they were with, and fans that they had, to go to teams that had worser defenses for MORE MONEY. Only positive is the money

If you want to look at the upshot of this, the other people we have for MLBs are better ATHLETES than Pierce. Whether they have the mind that he did remains to be seen.

Re: Antonio Pierce NFLPlayers.com Journal
Let's give Pierce some credit here, I don't buy this talk that the system made him. He picked up on a complicated defense, learned a new position and became the undisputed QB of the defense. That's something to take your hat off to. He did a hell of a job last year.
Is he the next Ray Lewis? Not even close. But he's an above average player, he works hard and he's a student of the game. Definitely the kind of guy you want on your team. |

Re: Antonio Pierce NFLPlayers.com Journal
It will be fun on Oct 30 as our H Back and O Linemen are driving him into the ground as Portis is running by him. Its nice we get to see him twice a year and he can see that our D hasn't missed a beat without him. Besides that I wish him all the luck in the world. He may need it!

Re: Antonio Pierce NFLPlayers.com Journal
I still think the system helped him a lot, every player on our defense had a career year. He is good and he had to have some talent to play as well as he did, but i do not think he will be as good as he was last year

Re: Antonio Pierce NFLPlayers.com Journal
I'm going to be a mean person here and say I hope Pierce stinks up the joint. Think about it. If he totally sucks, we know we really have a genious as a D coordinator, and it will give us confidence throughout the year if we continue to shuffle players on D because of injury. I want us to win so bad, I wish others to fail.

Re: Antonio Pierce NFLPlayers.com Journal
The thing I have against Pierce, if your going for the bucks and want a big payday......it's a business, but if you plan to do that then keep your BIG MOUTH shut and don't claim that you want to be a long time Redskins.............
From David Elfin Washington Times: Middle linebacker Antonio Pierce could be starting his final game for Washington on Sunday, but the free agent-to-be reiterated yesterday that he has no plans to leave the Redskins. "I'm big-time confident that it will get done," Pierce said of ongoing contract negotiations. "[Redskins owner Dan Snyder] and Coach [Joe] Gibbs are committed to it. They know I don't want to go anywhere else. This isn't going to be my last game with the Redskins."

Re: Antonio Pierce NFLPlayers.com Journal
Pierce said he didn't want to leave, but at the same time you have to understand in the end he has to make the best decision for himself, and the Giants simply offered him a better deal.
Pierce was more than fair to the Redskins, he gave them the chance to match the deal and the team declined. I can't find any reason to hold anything against Pierce, again I wish him the best. |

Re: Antonio Pierce NFLPlayers.com Journal
i wish him success in his life off the football field but as far as on the field goes, i wish him and his team much trouble and no success. same goes for smoot and the vikes. it doesn't matter how good or nice a player was when they were skins, once that player choses to leave, he no longer has my support. especially when he choses to play for a team in the same division.
may antonio be "SCALPED" by the skins offense this year..........twice!!!!!!
