The Cartman literally made me LOL. I might do it, but goddamn, I thought after the election this would be the end of it.

And you're right, particularly where I live it was the black guy versus the Mormon, and I'm sure it even chapped some conservative people's asses to vote for the Mormon because you can't cry religion really there either.

The thing people don't understand is the President has minimal influence over the economy. They get all the blame when things go poorly and all the praise when things go well. Then again the fiscal cliff is a very real threat that the President has a hand in however most of the time the markets will do what they want.

Either way the social side of me is very happy. Obamas reelection insures appointment of more liberal justices to the supreme court and planned parenthood will continue to stand, and the chances of going to war are greatly reduced with a modern progressive.

The fiscal conservative in me though is worried. More EPA, more confusing regulations, higher taxes on my bosses, and plans to increase spending before reducing the deficit.

I'm hoping Obamacare works, definitely want it to work, but I still think it's overkill.

I heard someone joke about that the other day on the radio. Apperently Canada is really hard to immigrate too. You have to take a physical to prove youre not unhealthy (maybe we should consider now?) and you also have to prove your economic worth. So a healthy guy with a business can move there but a fat kid who moved back in with his partents after graduating college because he cant find a job is even more out of luck.

Yeah, that and Europe. It shows you how stupid the American voters really are, which is exactly why I said what I said in the other thread. So you are going to leave this country to avoid "socialism", but head off to another country who has a higher degree of socialism than we do and pay more taxes.

It boils down to it, they just don't like the black guy.

I don't like NDAA, the Benghazi lies, his "I don't have all the information....but the police acted stupidly" (Oh, you'd forgotten that?) pandering to a religious group by insisting that NASA have an outreach for them and a litany of other things.

But I'm racist because I don't like his politics or his process?

Yea man, you imply that someone is racist and its such a demonized word all you have to do is toss it out there as a generalization and you win all arguments.
So then anyone that says something on Facebook that you disagree with is a racist too.
Works like a charm!

LOL. Indeed. I don't know why, but the whole "illegal" thing has been what's kept my wife and I from ever trying it. Might have to go on a vacation, partake, then go to Casa Bonita!

Re: Official 2012 Election Day Thread

certain things just played out in obama's favor.

latino's could go either way, but i think some of the issues in arizona and obama's willingness to ease enforcement played against the red team. the bailouts were very popular in ohio where it mattered. the trans-vaginal ultrasound type laws also hurt the red team. alienating the poor, gays, etc. just a bad idea to push so many people away when their population is growing pretty rapidly.

I mean, i could be way off, but the reps need to go moderate, the hardliners are still going to prefer them, but they need a bigger base. unlimited money isn't enough, apparently.
