The Manti Te'o Dead Girlfriend Hoax Web of Lies

It's really too bad that there isn't anything interesting about the Redskins to discuss, so we're stuck obsessing over another guy's fake girlfriend. That being said, what is relevant here is how this is going to affect his draft value. Right now there is just no way of knowing; the mushroom cloud is still expanding so to speak, and it will be weeks before things settle down to the point at which reasonable judgements can be made by NFL squads about Te'o's mental condition (for lack of a better term).

I dont see Te'o being a great NFL player at all. He got shredded by the closest thing to an NFL offense he's ever played against in the championship game. He also does not have strong leadership skills (and has been described as "childlike" by peers and interviewers), which is something you absolutely need from the QB of your defense. I certainly wouldnt want us wasting our 2nd round pick on him.

They used to be in a relationship together, something happened, he was the girlfriend he was always talking about and then they did not talk, everyone asked and he made up stories about how she was in a car accident and such. Te'o wants to keep friend quiet so he does not reveal both of their sexualities.

That's what I thought too when I saw that. If he was (not saying it for a fact) willing to lie like he has been accused of then why would he not be willing to pay off someone to take this heat.

Might be less than the world average. All the homophobia that flows in and around football is a probably a pretty good deterrent towards gay people. I have a lot respect for gay players, regardless if they are closet or not, for spending almost everyday of their lives in an discriminating environment. I couldn't imagine dealing with that.
