Re: Darnerien Done
its best for him that he got cut, he'll get a chance somewhere else. Gibbs wasnt going to play him, for some reason he just doesnt like playing him

I think Gibbs liked what he saw on film of McCants and that's why he re-signed him... but he obviously wasn't as impressed once he got a look at him up close. |

Re: Darnerien Done
darnarien was a guy we drafted, a guy who loved to be a redskin and a guy who played well when he has his opportunities. being a true redskin doesnt mean you ahve to be a superstar.
i think dyson is looking for a paycheck. he was never that good, he is only known for the "music city miracle". hey we all are looking for a decent paycheck but i doubt he is looking to help the team. i honestly wish the best for them both(except if darnarien go to an nfc east team). |

Re: Darnerien Done
We will be fine without him. Perhaps better without him if he didn't practice well. Cut out the cancers. I did enjoy him about 3 years ago when he nabbed 5-6 tds in a season, but realistcally he doesn't show the effort that Patten or Moss do. Even a disgruntled Coles played exremely hard with a f'd up toe. This is a business and I'm glad Gibbs takes his business very serious. He'll be with another team within 2 days. Goodluck to him and maybe this will be a lesson to him, although he still thinks he's a singer; bahahahahahahahahhahahaha. Try being good at something you do, practice is a good way to do that!

Re: Darnerien Done
Jeez.....some of you guys are acting like we cut a future Hall of famer.
Bottom line is McCants wasn't a good practice player, and didn't do much when he was on the field. Like Matty said....his lackadaisical approach grew old on the coaching staff and with some fans. I'm not surprised about this move at all, other than the fact that he went out on the first cuts. |

Re: Darnerien Done
This can be sumed up real easy. If you don't practice you don'y play, if you don't play you can't make play, if you don't make plays you don't make the team. He knew how Gibbs felt from a meeting they had last year and he stated so. He did nothing to impress Gibbs so now hes off the team and he got what was coming. All great player have a great work ethic so how could we expect him to get any better.

Re: Darnerien Done
mccants will end up an eagle this week, i'm sure... besides knowing a little of the skins gameplan, he could easily be their #2 WR.

Re: Darnerien Done
I'm not surprised McCants got cut. I would be surprised to see Dyson can make it, because he hasn't really impressed me much during the preseason so far.

Re: Darnerien Done
I liked McCants too and he was great a couple years ago, but let's not cry too many tears for him.
The guy signed LAST YEAR and got a $2 MILLION SIGNING BONUS! Not bad for sitting on the bench all year. Plus we chose to cut him now when there was zero financial incentive to do so (we hardly save anything on our 2005 cap). That tells me that Gibbs really didn't like this guy for whatever reason, and that's good enough for me. So long and good luck Darnerian. |

Re: Darnerien Done
I have always been a Darnerien fan, but mostly because he was a local product and actually went to the same high school as me, then he had the good year in 2003. So I'm kind of disappointed, but I understand it. He seemed to love the Skins, but he just wasn't a Gibbs type player....someone like Thrash who works his ass off is. McCants just didn't seem to have the focus. I do think he can have a successful career in the NFL though....not a star, but successful...
Good luck Dmac! And please go anywhere but an NFC East team so I can still root you on! |

Re: Darnerien Done
Yeah, I just don't want to see him go to Philly. Not that I'm worried about him beating us out, I just don't want him to possibly wind up on a team and maybe go to the Super Bowl. (Corey Dillon anyone?)
