Kolb isn't the only backup who performed a few times and got everyone in a tizzy to get him. I think Matt Cassell has him beat. Kolb played part of a season, while Cassell only played a few games. KC was dumber than dirt to get him, as was Arizona in getting Kolb, but both clubs were desperate.

Actually it was Cassell that pretty much played the whole year, when Brady went down for the season in the first game of the year back in 08 it was Cassell who stepped in for the rest of the season and led them to an 11-5 record. That's why KC traded for him. Whereas Kolb only played a few games with the Eagles and the Cards were apparently impressed enough to trade for him.

I don't think going after Fred Davis was a bad idea. We only singed him to a one year, prove yourself kind of deal. The only way the Bills would have been stupid for going after him is if they had actaully signed him to a multi-year deal worth a ton of cash.

I can almost guarantee we get a late first rounder for Cousins.

I doubt it only because teams with late 1st round picks usually are set at qb. my guess would be a very high second.

True but you never know, it could be a team that has two first rounders and isnt set at QB

True. I could see a second and 4th depending in how much playing time he gets this year. If he plays the first 3-4 games and we go 2-1 or 3-1 I see us getting much more for him.

Re: Around the NFL Free Agency Thread 2013

It all depends on what the market is for QB through free agency and draft. This off season is perfect time to trade Cousins away because few teams are starving for a legit QB, but we need him. All we can do is hope that, in Cousin's last year of contract or whatever Shanny's plan is, the QB market is similar to this.

No need to rush on trading Cousins. There's always a shortage of quality starters in the league. Someone is always looking for a QB.

agreed, not to mention I would like to see Griffin go a whole season and show he can protect himself. I expect he will, but would like to see it first before Capt Kirk is traded away.
