Also is the guy willing to play G until a spot opens up at Tackle?

EDIT: Shit, this guy is going to screw up my Mock Draft. A huge mauler with Dockery size and the versatility to play Tackle in a pinch. Reminds me of Shaun Andrews. However is he going to be available in the second round?

2nd: Quentin Groves, DE/OLB, Auburn ( I doubt he will make it this far, but the draft can unfold in many ways between now and April)
3rd: Jordy Nelson, WR/KR, Kansas State

We'd be sitting pretty.

Quentin Groves really helped his case. He might be a better pick in the first instead of a guy like Calais Campbell.

Forget first round. At this rate Campbeel is looking more and more like an early third round pick. Right now he reminds me of Quinton Moses at this point last year.

However the more I see these hybrid OLB types moving up draft boards the more I start to wish that we ran a 3-4. Then again the 4-3 has been good to us in years past.

Well a guy like Derick Harvey would be fine if we didn't have Andre Carter. To be honest I don't mind if we take a speed rusher in round 2, especially if he has a frame where he can add more bulk (Daryl Tapp comes to mind. ~254 on draft day now 270 pounds). I'm currently lobbying for Brandon Albert but Smootsmack has recently turned my attention to Carl Nicks, which would be great because then we could use the first round to grab Phillip Merling, Kenny Phillips, or maybe even Rogers-Cromartie (though he's not my first choice) and still come out with a G/T type guy that could start next year and eventually take over for Jansen.

I like Branden Albert, but is he that much better than a guy like Roy Scheuning who could be had in the third? Jeremy Zuttah had a really strong showing at the combine, and he'll probably be around in the middle rounds.

Well to start off I love Scheuning, but with the lack of depth at Guard in this years draft Roy will probably be an early-mid third round pick. Scheuning has the ability to run block that I want but the thing about Albert is he has the potential to play LT or at least RT one day. And with Jansen and Samuals both in their 30's I would like to get that taken care of. Plus I see Albert as a Pro Bowler in 2 or 3 years.

Scheuning on the other hand I see as a guy on the same plain as say Casey Rabach. Where as Albert would be a younger Randy Thomas in my eyes.

Nicks is similar in the versitilty and run blocking department but I don't know as much about him.

Not to sound cheesy, but I may be forever impacted by my experiences in high school when we had a great set of skill players but the lamest, weakest line you can imagine. Our skill players were all brutalized over the season because they didn't have those lines protecting them.

I'm not saying the Redskins don't have a solid core there to start with, I'm just saying you build from the line out - and we have some age concerns across both lines.

I guess your right, my team had great skill players (Charlie Whitehurst at QB and Sugar Ray Lenord's son at WR) but where the team really stood out was on the DL. We had three or four excellent D-Lineman and went to the state semi-finals one year. In fact they were so good that we never rushed more then 3 guys. In fact 4 guys rushing the passer was considered a blitz for our team. One guy even got a scholarship to Florida State before he was declared academically ineligable.

We currently have a great run stopping D and we should find a good D-lineman in the draft, but I think we really need to start rebuilding the O-Line. Personally I want an O-Line that can create running lanes for virtually anybody.

Either way Jim Zorn mentioned on Total Access that we're looking for the following NFL Video Galleries.

- Help at Corner
- A big WR to compliment Moss and ARE
- Help on the DL
- Help on the OL
- And he alluded to the possibility of bringing in a safety.

Wait a minute. I went to high school with Sugar Ray Leonard's son. Which son are you talking about?

Anyhow, as for Nicks I was just saying that if they go OT, then I think Carl Nick is someone they should consider. But his stock is rising so he probably won't be around when they draft in round 2 (and he's not, in my opinion, worth the #21 pick). If they go OG, I like Chilo Rachal.

I heard he had a lot of kids, but if you must know, it was Jarell(Sp?).

As far as Nicks goes, I see a lot of mock drafts have him going to the Falcons in the second round. If it's between getting a solid DL in the first round with a great OL prospect in the second then I'm all for it. However I think that the OL that can make a big impact right away will be gone by the time we pick in the second round. Thats why I'm lobbying for Albert to go in the first.

The thing that suprised me though with Nicks, was his body comp. At 345 lbs I expected him to look doughy, but looking at the guy he looks relatively lean, especially for a guy that size.

As far as Chilo goes, well for some reason I keep on thinking that OL that come out of USC are more pass blockers, though I wouldn't mind having Ryan Kalil. I'll have to take a closer look at him.

if i had to get a defensive play i would say pick calias campbell, but if WR is what you go for in the first round i would love to get James Hardy from Indiana Univerisity. with his 6'7 height and his 4.5-4.6 speed he would be great to have for the second receiver, since Zorn wants to use Randel El as a slot receiver. so Hardy is my pick
