Re: Washington Capitals 2008-2009 ongoing thread
That Green injury is all I'm thinking about right now. We absolutely CANNOT afford to lose him down the stretch.
Oh yeah, and I'm not really a fan of Ovie's showboating. Tonight's thing with his stick was stupid.

Re: Washington Capitals 2008-2009 ongoing thread
From Caps Insider:
Posted at 10:17 AM ET, 03/20/2009 Mike Green Update I just spoke with defenseman Mike Green, who was injured in the final minutes of last night's game when he was pulled down by rookie Steven Stamkos. Green did not practice today, but said he hopes to take the morning skate tomorrow. At that time, he will decide whether he can face the 'Canes at RBC Center. Green seemed to be moving okay. But he definitely is not "fine," as both he and Coach Bruce Boudreau said after the Caps' 5-2 win. If I had to speculate, I would guess that he's got an abdominal or oblique strain. The team has not provided an official update on his status.

Re: Washington Capitals 2008-2009 ongoing thread
CAPS play like shit in the 3rd on the road vs. canes and come up on the short end of the stick, after 3 unanswered goals in the 3rd! 4-1
Theo is playing way to inconsistent at the wrong time. And he was down right awful in the 3rd. If he can't pick up his level of play and keep it up. He will be the short link that gets us eliminated from the playoffs early! I would start using Varlamov a lot more down the home stretch! Game Summary GO CAPS!!!!!

Re: Washington Capitals 2008-2009 ongoing thread
Just returned home from the CAPS vs. buffalo tilt.
The CAPS lost in OT. Tuff hard fought game. Just couldn't finish in OT. However they did clinch there second, back to back Southeast Title tonight with the one point. Great season...the CAPS need to step it up as we get ready to enter the playoffs. But GREAT JOB! Washington Capitals - Recap: Buffalo @ Washington - 04/03/2009 GO CAPS!!!!!
