Re: Vikings Run Up The Score: Brooking vs. Pat Williams

Even if it's true that it's classless to go for the score in that situation (debatable but whatever) it's even MORE classless to whine about after the fact and preen like a chump in front of the sidelines. How did Gibbs react when Belichick went for it on fourth down in the fourth quarter leading 45-0? By stating emphatically that there was nothing wrong with what he did. Let other people call it classless Keith, you just got your bitch ass whooped so ride out quietly into the night.

So when did it become classless for an O to go out and do their job by scoring. I personaly thought that was he best thing the Vikes could have done because at that point in the game they still had Petterson in the game running the ball. After that TD the O could just take a knee and run out the clock not riskin anyone getting injured.

I'm only sad the Vikings didn't put up more points on them.
So you had no prob with the Pats running up the score on us, when there is realistically no impact that score had on the result?

Nope, not a single bit. It just proves that changes needed to be made. If you are that inferior to your competition, you deserve it.

Fair enough. I guess I just disagree. It doesnt make sense to score, when the game is 100 percent over. Burn the clock and end the game quicker, without rubbing it in.

I also dont think that running the score up proves anything. It was clear the Boys were getting owned, scoring that extra TD did nothing IMO. It may have sent a message to the NFL, stating they are dicks. The Pats have cemented that impression quite will.

i didnt think the game was 100% over. the only way the vikes could have burned the clock was to go for it or attempt a 47 yd (?) field goal.

you miss that fg and the boys believe again.

Exactly, the Vikings really didn't have a bunch of good choices down there. Had they missed a field goal the Cowboys come out blazing, which in my mind, means the game isn't over.

Brooking made himself and his team look bad.

People siding with the Vikes are nothing but hypocrites. 2007 New England 52 Redskins 7. Remember??? How soon we forget. It's funny how when someone else gets the score run up on them ( Dallas) it's ok, but when it happens to us Bill Belicheck is an asshole. It's pro football. If you can't take getting scored on when the game is out of hand then either do something about it or find something else to do with your life. I can't stand it when people bitch about running up the score.

Let's just say we were playing that game against Minnesota yesterday. And it was us getting run up on. Everyone here would be crying like babies. Please.

It is ony hypocritical if you thought there was something wrong with it back in 2007. Which I did not This is the playoffs, not preseason. Bring your A game or else stay home.
I can not believe some are upset about a team playing to their best of their abilities to win in the playoffs.
A few of the younger Dallas player on defense were running their mouths early in the game. When they made a great play they would go right up to the Vikings player and talk shit and taunt them. Where is the outrage for that kind of classless play? Can't have it both ways. Instead this punk gets upset about getting scored on? Dry your tears and come back when you have a better team.

Re: Vikings Run Up The Score: Brooking vs. Pat Williams

Has anyone brought up the fact that with 2 minutes to go, down 24-3 and on their own ~30yard line, the cowboys went for it on 4th down? If they really thought the game was already over and it was just a matter of letting the clock run out, why not just punt the ball away? Why even risk giving the vikings that kind of field position? Obviously the cowboys were still playing as if they thought they could win, with maybe the exception of Keith "We're Gonna Bust'em In The Mouth" Brooking.
