What will we do about the safety position? I am really interested to see what comes out of Ashburn and what goes in. Is there truth to the Landry leaving rumors?
Honestly I have no idea what we'll do. I think Landry is on the block, well I know he is actually. But as I understand it we're not so much actively shopping him as we are putting him out there to see if we're blown away by an offer

I could only hope...and honestly we should....the reason: WE HAVE NEVER WON ANYTHING WITH THOSE GUYS...

If we really want a new start, it starts with up top and goes all the way down. So we taken care of the top, Danny Boy has step aside, New coaches, FO guys....so it would make complete sense to me to continue and we see alot of new faces on the field.

I agree 100% with you Chico. It would seem logical that Friday could be a day of older Redskins getting their walking papers.

ARE, Thomas, Rock, Possibly Ladell, just to name a few that come to my mind.

Great person, and good player in his prime...but I do not want to see him back, tooooooo many injuries. Its time to move on.

However given the fact that Peppers likely isn't coming here then I guess most of this discussion is a moot point.
If by chance he did come here, the talk of moving him to an outside linebacker position is insane IMO . First I can't imagine him playing in space, or being on the plus side of thirty embracing a new and totally diferent position.

There's talk of moving other players to unfamaliar positions with the idea in mind of utilizing the 3-4 as the base defense, some of these concepts have me scratching my head.

So at 283 lbs. would Peppers be a good 3-4? Although in 4-3 formations, imagine a line with Peppers, Daniels (or another DT), AH, and Orakpo?

I don't get the whole Peppers deal. He isn't that much more talented than Carter. He certainly won't be million$ more talented.

I'm hoping that SmootSmack is right and there's really not much to this rumor.

I didn't think much of it either until I remembered DS was our owner

Why all the Peppers haters ? It just seems whatever move the Skins make someone is all bent out of shape. I no in the past things have back fired on us but GOT DAMN!!! This is not Vinny calling the shots anymore so lets give Allen the benefit of the doubt.
If everyone else is so smart buy the team and run it yourselves.

For obvious reasons I cannot get a wraparound on AH playing the NT position. Suggesting he play there at all cost is only going to stir the same emotion in him that he displayed last year. Some say shut-up and play where the coaches tell you to play, I'm afraid that mentality is outdated and just won't work with today's player. I will continue to have reservations about it happening until I see if it's going to work and how effective it's going to be over the long haul.

Yeah, agreed. If we end up going to the 3-4 though, Carter becomes a one-and-a-half down guy. He might "start" at defensive end, but he won't really play the interior position.
