Is that from this year? Do the vets STILL make MK carry their helmets?

i dont think banks is the lock to make the team so many people think he is. I honestly think Austin has a much better shot of making the roster.

Re: Update: Malcolm Kelly To Be Placed On IR
This discussion of basically fringe WRs is why I will watch some of the Thursday night game this week. It really think that Skins/Cardinals game will be a one game tryout for some of these guys to help Shannahan make his final decisions. I think Banks needs to run some pass routes, catch some balls on offense and not fumble/muff some punts. Devin Thomas needs to catch everything within 5 yards of him! Armstrong is just fun to watch, period! I would love to see him become our number 2 WR!

Re: Update: Malcolm Kelly To Be Placed On IR
Thomas is our biggest WR, most physical, and he returns kicks.
I just don't see him getting the axe. Given the team's patience with Kelly, I would really be surprised to see Thomas get dropped. |

Devin Thomas is terrible at returning kicks. Why do people think he is in line for that job? I do think his blocking on the punt return team is what stands out most favorably. |

Because he's been listed on the depth chart as the main KR since camp opened. He's certainly in the mix.

He is big, but I would NOT call him physical by any stretch. What I am noticing his main problem as WR running routes is he can not maintain a high speed when running square-in patterns. It might be his weak knees, but he is fine run a deep route or running in a straight line, but if he has to run a 90 degree corner in his route he has to slow down. Which might explain the whole not getting enough separation from DB issue. |

Kelly, I think, would have been a very easy cut -- it's not like he has a great shot to make the team next year. But if Shanny already knows Thomas is gone, it makes more sense to not dump Kelly at the same time. With that said, every spot is open after Moss and Armstrong. Still skeptical that Galloway or Wade or Roydell Williams have a chance to make it, but this team does have more invested in both Banks and Austin than Thomas. I think that's a really bad sign for Thomas, especially now that we know Kelly is going to open next offseason with the team.

Re: Update: Malcolm Kelly To Be Placed On IR
Apparently Kelly's initial diagnosis was incorrect, they had it as a grade 1 strain.. 2nd opinion came up with grade 2
of course it could've just gotten worse

Re: Update: Malcolm Kelly To Be Placed On IR
He was number 12 last year according to QB rating. With Warner retired he can easily move up to 11. Ironically JC was only 3 spots removed from McNabb.
