Re: Skins vs Cardinals pre-game thread

Ugh -- why do I have a bad feeling about this game? Could it be it's because these are the games we've been finding ways to lose? Is it because they resemble teams that have come up to bite us like the Texans from last year, the Rams from 2008, or the Lions from the last two seasons?

This game is probably bigger than anybody thinks ... First of all, it's a classic letdown game: It follows a big win against a division rival, and it comes before a Monday night showdown against a division rival. If we lose it, the win against the Giants takes us down a notch. But if we win, I think it will signify the mark of a truly good team -- coming back after a big victory to take care of business against someone you should have no trouble with. In recent years, we've been taken down under exactly this scenario.

This is another huge test. All I'll say is, our secondary better be on their game.

We are going to trash the Cardinals.

It's one game. Lets see what we look like after these first four games, before we can say we're not the same old skins. Who knows, the Giants could be one of the worst teams in the league this year, don't get too optimistic too quick.

Re: Skins vs Cardinals pre-game thread

The entire aura of this team just feels so different. I am very optimistic about how the team looks, and also, do not discount the win against the Giants. Any W that you can get in this division is nothing to sneeze at, no matter how you slice it. I say if this team handles their business and beats the cards, then we are looking at a playoff caliber team. Its been a long time since Ive been this optimistic, even more optimistic than I was when we started 6-2 the other year.

Like I said, the attitude and the entire "mojo" this team has is getting me excited, not to mention the work ethic and all the young talent, which is everything that DC is unaccustomed to, but everything this franchise needs.

Re: Skins vs Cardinals pre-game thread

I seem to recall the Skins going 6-2 two years back and everyone saying we'd arrived, that Zorn was the coach of the future and JC was finally showing his potential.

I don't want to be a downer -- but as has been said, let's wait before we say stuff like 'we are going to trash the cardinals'. Fitzgerald is among the best, if not the best, WR in the league and Kolb has a lot of talent. These Cardinals are no pushovers.

I agree.

Nothing wrong with being optimistic. This team feels different.

Re: Skins vs Cardinals pre-game thread

This team needs to have a colossal brain fart in order to lose to the Cardinals, i.e the O-line completely disappears and can't block a damn, or Rex forgets all of the plays.

Hopefully we come out with an attitude . We need to run much better than we did vs NY ( 13 of Hightowers 25 carries either gained zero yds or lost yards ) , we need to keep AZ's offence on the bench , and build a nice lead .

Re: Skins vs Cardinals pre-game thread

Main difference is this team has a great coaching staff from top to bottom.. It's been a while since that has happened
